Failed a class
Anyone ever fail a class in college?
Here is my situation. Im currently taking two classes; sociology and chemistry II for a total of 10 credits. Im going back to my old school next semester and will be switching back to my old major that doesnt require chemistry II. Im failing chemistry II I cant drop another class. Should i be worried about the D or F i am about to get? |

Only if you care about your GPA really. If it doesn't matter with your new major then screw it. As long as your not trying to keep up your GPA.

Were I attend, if you get a D or F and you retake the class, the higher of the grade is placed on your transcript. I get a total of four strikes.
One F will change your GPA but if you have enough credits with high grades the change will be less.

Depends on if you're planning on getting a Master's or not.

That does not mean that you failed yet.
your GPA is important. try to raise the grade as much as you can.

I mean, when i do my transcripts over to my old school, can i say just to not include the chem II grade and pretend i never even took it. I imagine that it wont mess up my GPA because its not even on my checksheet
But thanks for the responses guys, glad to see im not the only one if the F boat. |

I don't think you can pick and choose what classes you have taken and want to count toward your GPA

Your right. But if this class isn't on the transcript at his new college for his new major then it doesn't matter.
IE, if he doesn't have to take the class at his new college with a differen't major only the classes for that major should show on he transcript when he graduates with his BS or whatever. |

I dont think i can use any more withdraws which sucks ass. I already used 3. I went from 15 credits, to now being at only 10. If i withdraw ill be at 5 which makes me 1/4 student and my status goes to restricted. im just gonna finish up this class, get the d or the f, and hope that my old school (soon to be my current school) ignors the class all together and doesnt factor it in with my gpa or cumulative grades.
Worst case, ill say fuck it i just wiped my ass with 10gs and wont even send over a transcript. |

I thought chem 2 was easier than 1. Also, I think the teachers make the biggest difference

my teacher is a dickhead, we cover a chapter a week, 100 equations you HAVE to memorize, and my TA is a retard.
that being said, calc II was terrible, i dropped it twice. I am just really lazy. I have straigh A's in every engineering, business, or engineering elective classes. I get to math, get bored, dont do my hw, and give up. Terrible |

Not to change the subject of GPA's but are you on your parents health insurance as a full time student? Because usually proof of full time status is required each grading period, that being 12 credit hours. If you drop under that, you may not qualify as a dependent on the parents insurance. This all depends of course on the language of the policy. AND if they paid out benefits during that time you were no longer legally considered a full time student, then your parents will have to pay those expenses because it goes retro active to the last semester you actually were a full time student.
Bottom line, not only did you drop credits but you may have lost your health insurance permanently and it's expensive to pay it monthly. Just an FYI........sorry, just most don't know this. Carry on : )

lol, try failing 2 quarters at one college and another semester and a half at another
![]() ya... I fucked up ![]() but anyway, don't let your passing grade fall because of fretting over the chem class... if you have the time and effort, get the grade back up as much as you can so it doesn't effect your GPA as much, but if your other grade goes downhill, better to pass 1 than none... |
