you all do realize that thousand of white's didn't die during the civil war to end slavery. There may have been some people who joined the army for that purpose, but if anyone during the war were fighting to end slavery, it was the slaves and freed slaves who fought to end slavery. Union was fighting to preserve the union, South was fighting for independence.

in the 1800's i would have been one of the people fight for their freedom, but their own people sold them into slavery, the whole slavery thing was not just the fault of white people it was the fault of the black people in africa too. its time for white people to stob bearing the blame for all of it. Whats in the past is in the past. We cant change it. All we can do is make sure that our future is full of diversity with equality

Even if it was my grandfather who directly enslaved every black person he knew, it still wasn't me and I shouldn't have to be held responsible...why can't people just let it die?

there's a synonym for "diversity with equality" it's called "separate but equal"

Hopefully no one still pulls the stupid slavery card stuff, that is certainly in the past, but the racism and class wars that have occurred within the past 60 years are still "current events" in history. I don't think blame necessarily rests on any one group, and I hate that anyone has to walk on eggshells on such trivial stuff, but people are acting like this is ancient history when there are still people walking the earth who would have sat on different parts of the bus than "us" or wouldn't have been allowed in the same restaurant as "us" or allowed to even use the same drinking fountain as "us".

They can use anything that's ours, but if you go read and look around and watch videos there are still plenty of black people who think white people still want them for slaves. Why would I want to have to feed someone?

the Pope has apologized for the lack of action taken by the Church during World war 2 for Jews. Popes in the past have apologized for stuff like the Crusades and the Inquisition. We must suffer the actions of our fathers, there's no such thing as a clean slate.
