Looking at a Truck/Trailer!


Going to go look at a truck and a trailer today! 16 foot 2004 flat bed car hauler (for the Stang) and a 1990 F250 Diesel 5 speed 4x4 long bed extended cab! I have a good feeling that it will be coming home with us today! 3500 bucks for the pair!

Well.. Not mine

got there and it was in rougher shape than he described, but that is no big deal to me... its a work truck type thing... But then when it fired up, it had a valve rattle or something of that sort on the passenger side. Drove it, has plently of torque, spun the tires twice, but damn is it slow. I could care less about the slow part. The trailer had mismatched wheels, had dents in the frame.... just was not worth the 3500 bucks...

Take that 7.3 stick about 3k in it and it will get better mileage than a new truck, and have just as much power. I have done a couple IDI engines. I usually get a T444E heads, and swap on a 6.0 turbo, with a set of 5% over extrude honed T444E injectors, with a 6.0 lift pump, fuel filter assembly, add a custom chip, and you're set. You'll put down qround 300rwhp/500rwtq. That is as good as a brand new diesel for a fraction of the cost.

I dont need all that crap.. i need a DD... not another race car... hahaha

i just need it to get to and from school and beable to tow my car on a trailer. and i want a truck bed for an ATV

It was a good price for the truck alone. And that "slow" ain't from lack of power...lol. That's called torque baby! Wait'll you pull your first fallen tree that's as big as the truck. You'll love her forever.



I traded mine this afternoon...the "new" one's sitting in the backyard...

i use mine to tow all the time. i have had it pretty damn loaded, i havent had an issue out of it.

I know where a clean 1996 F-250 super cab long box is for sale in Northern Michigan. Truck is White and silver two tone, with 190K mi. I did most of the maintenance work on it. I think he wanted like $6200, I'll call him and see if he still wants to sell it.

Actually the T444E, have been proven to last as much as 400k. On a regular basis these trucks can go 275-300k.

It depends, on the newer engines 190k is a lot. When I say newer I mean as in 2003 and newe4. The 6.0 Powerstrokes don't last, as do the LBZ and newer Duramaxes, and Cummins, as long as stock will last somewhat decent, but all of the new emissions bs has started to take away all of the positives of a diesel engine.
