It is when you have more pixels and the pixels are smaller. Think of it as you drawing a picture with dots. You make the picture have about 520 big dots and then you make the same picture with 12000 small dots. Which one looks better?

Yea, I am pretty sure it can. I am more keen on video cameras though. But about the price are you looking for a dslr camera or just a point and shoot.

dslr stands for digital singe lens reflex. They have a mirror that reflects on to a ccd to make a clear image. They are the cameras that you see photographers use that have the big lenses.

I really like my Nikon Coolpix S550. It gets the job done, small, great clarity, can video record as well. Most of the editing stuff they do on those photos is through photoshop work.

the pic you posted looks like that because of HDR, not entirely because of the type of camera

it's a technique used to make photos more realistic lighting and sometimes can make things seem fantasy or "video game"-ish look...

basically you take multiple photos at different exposures and combine them all...look it up, cause I'm, not gonna try and explain it all...lol

even the high dollar cameras won't take shots like that automatically... so really, you can't just hit the shutter and come up with a pic like that... you have to plan it and use an HDR program

+1
just because a camera has 12mp doesnt mean it can take pics like that
you need a certain software that allows you to put the images together
hdr stands for high dynamic range
you take three pictures of the same image
one underexposed
one normal
and the last over exposed
idk how exactly it works but there are a couple of guys on here that can do it
emay and opal are two of them
