i'm just a little more worried because I want to be in the engineering program, which is pretty tough to get into at purdue...

dunno what his entrance scores were, he started in engineering and finished in construction management. I had another kid I know who also went there for engineering, and I know he wasn't the brightest crayon in the box. If you have a good GPA, 3.5+ and a decent exam score, 26+ ACT, you'll be fine. If not, you can write some essay probably explaining why you should be allowed in the engineering program. Can also probably do pre-engineering your first year, take the base courses like math and physics, if you do well enough they'll likely let you into the engineering department. First 2 years aren't going to matter anyways, it's all Gen Ed.
