What is the Best LCD TV?
After asking around and doing research, I’m looking at purchasing the Samsung LN52A650 LCD TV. It's a Cnet editors choice and the best pick overall on BestCovery (Best LCD TV Overall | BestCovery).
It seems like a great TV. I might pick up the 46" version since it has great reviews. Does anyone have experience with this TV or recommend something else? What about the Panasonic plasmas? |

Sony Bravia has the best quality hands down, but is a little pricey
Samsung is making great tv's now And one you might not expect is Vizio. If you want to save a little money then pick one up, I have a 42" 1080p Vizio and i couldn't be any happier. Couple other guys on here also have Vizio's and they also say it is a good tv. What you want to get is a tv with 120hz. it's the fastest refresh rate out there right now. in about a year they are going to be coming out with 240hz. What that is, is how fast the screen refreshes. with 120hz you will see more leg and less blur when watching a football game. most of the tv's that are out are 60hz, the new models are being put into stores now. At my work we have 3 tv's with the 120hz (Sony, Samsung, Vizio) If you are serious about buying a tv then go to Best Buy, Circuit City and look at the tv's in person and see which ones are the best for YOU, and then go and shop around for the best prices. Also check out a Costco or Sam's Club... even with the membership cost, you may get a better deal. Also at Sam's Club they have extended warranties avaible (for something $999-$1599 it's like 25 dollars for an extra year or 70 for an extra 3 years. Best extended warranty out there and it covers EVERYTHING. I would know, i had to read it for training haha. You can go to Sam's Club or Costco and ask to look around and go in a look at the tv's. sometimes you will find a hell of a deal on a tv. I can also tell you that at my work we are selling ALL tv's with a markup of anywhere from 2%-7%. Sony Bravia's are being sold by us at a 2%-4% markup depending on the tv. the smaller the tv the more markup there is

Vizio is the exception because not many people have heard of them, but they are actually competing with Sony. Sony is afraid that Vizio is going to start out selling them because they are inexpensive and great tv's. |

thats because the price of manufacturing has gone up due to the economy. The prices were not much above as it was to make the tv's, but since it costs more to make them, they had to raise the price in order to make money instead of losing money

if money is not an issue the get either a Sony Bravia (which a 52" will be 2600) or a Samsung. but if you want to save some money then go with Vizio

I really like Sonys images, much better looking IMO. best idea for you is to go to a store, walk around and find one you like.

It all would really depend on your budget, and how big you want to go.
For me I didn't want to spend over $1500 It was between a Vizio, Aquos and the one I eventually bought. I got a Philips 47" 1080p. The picture looks great on it. The only problem I REALLY have with it, and it's not like it's a manufacturing issue...but I have it in my room, and it puts out a decent amount of heat, so my little room turns into an oven if it's been on for a while. Also, depending on what you plan to do with it, check the HDMI inputs. My roommates TV only has one so he has to switch the cable alot to play video games or watch movies. |
