Best height for a tv
i replaced my 32 inch flatscreen with a 42 inch flatscreen and it sits kinda high right now. it's a big debate with me and friends and family as to how high the tv should actually be.
before, the tv was about 5'8 at it's peak off the ground, and rests about 4'6 inches off the foor.... now it's about 6'2 at it's peak resting on the same stand.... viewing the tv u have to sit back and tilt ur neck slighlty up to view...... it's kind of akward but almost like sitting in a theater when u sit back and relax...... when i stand up, my eyes pretty much rest in the middle of the screen basically how high off the ground do u think a 42 inch tv should sit, to optimize it perfectly for movie's and gaming... |

Usually when you go that high they need to be tilted down some...thats why the wall mounted tvs are always tilted on an angle....so you might need a shorter stand or a wall mount...just my .02

same here, but as it is now, it will only fit where it is, without me drastically rearanging all the furniture and moving a 500lb fish tank
therefore, opinions on why, so i can convince myself to spend more money |

A T.V. (as well as any wall-mounted art) should be mounted where the midpoint is eye level of the viewer.
Tape off corner to corner on the T.V. to get the mid point. Achieve a position of eye-level from the viewing location. Mount accordingly.

tv should be at eye level, or a bit higher with a tilt mount
