I burnt my arm on Thanksgiving taking a big metal pan out of the oven, and now its all red, and the redness is growing further and further out from it.

Does this mean its infected?

Also I am kind of clueless on how to treat burns, i've never had one this bad, I have just been putting neosporin on it and a band-aid.

oozing yellow grossness usually means infection. especially if the color of the scab is a "yellowish" color and not the normal "usual" scab variety. if it's oozing you may want to take a warm cloth and leave it on the wound for about 15 minutes. The warmth usually draws the infection out (not the 1st time either). Then treat it with hydrogen peroxide and/or neosporin

thats weird that a burn got infected... clean your ovens more often.

If it were a normal burn I would tell you to give it some air over night and then wrap it again tomorrow with neosporin and band aids but seeing as it isn't... I don't know. Go to a pharmacy and see if any one there has ideas for you. some times they aren't all idiots.

I can assure you that my oven is always clean. Plus even if it was dirty bacteria wouldn't survive those temperatures.

I am just washing it and putting band-aids and neosporin on it, this morning it was itchy. but seems to have stopped now.
