I bought a voyager off of ebay about a month ago, and the touchscreen decided to take a crap on me yesterday. My question is, since its not cracked or wet or anything will verizon fix it? Or do I need to file a claim on my insurance?

I really don't want to file a claim as I am eligible for an upgrade next month.

just go in and show them what happened and they should replace it right there... thats what i did with my voyagers....all 7 of them.. i'm on my 8th or 9th one and now have the titanium, no problems with the titanium..

Happened w/ my iPhone and I'm not even with AT&T. I have t-mobile. Like 2 weeks into having the phone the touch screen just took a poop. Called apple and was like WTF?...literally a day later I had an empty box saying to put my old phone in there; then 2 days after that I had a brand new iphone still sealed in the box. Any companies with phones that are touch screens better budget for s*** that happened to your phone cuz they break when they want too.

well given the fact you bought it on ebay i think you would have to go thru insurance. you might be able to do a warranty exchange if the waranty covers second owners

This was my only concern. I know if I would have bought it from verizon then this would not be a problem.

Play dumb with Verizon, Walk in and be like "I don't remember when I got this, I'm pretty sure it was shortly after it came out. I turned the phone off last night, then when i went to turn it on this morning it wasn't working???"

yea just try verizon bc some how i have the magical voyager and mine has yet to take a crap on me and i got it the day it came out last year

i wish i was that lucky... it was fine for about 2 months, and then i started having problems with it. by early may i had gone through 8-9 phones cause of problems with them. and that was with the black version, i've had 2 titaniums, the first one the light on the buttons didn't work so i took it back the next day and they gave me another new one at no cost, none of them cost me money

i've been wondering about this too bc i got mine thru ebay as well...i wonder if they do die if verizon will fix or replace em..

It could have been bought for a "gift" for you. It could have been bought anywhere. All they know is when it was activated on your account to your number.

Im sure the phone has some sort of serial number that shows when and who purchased it.

I've gotten many of phones off ebay (unlocked so i can swap sim cards) and if they break over a stupid manufacturers defect I just take them in to the store that carries that type of phone and tell them it was a gift given to me and it simply broke. then i show them there's no water damage and all that. so with verizon you can't upgrade if you "claim" insurance on your phone or what not?

Yeah I can still upgrade, but I don't want to pay 50 bucks to get them to send me a new phone for just this month. I wish I could push my damn upgrade date up.

Yeah, that's a good point. I wonder if you threaten them and pretend you want to switch carriers. Maybe they'll push the date up. I got my unlimited texting for 10 a month instead of 20. I just told them i was going to switch from tmobile to att and tmobile dropped it down.

yeah verizon would just say, "Well, here is the cancellation fee, we take cash, check, and credit card"
