gettin my xbox online

is there a way i can run an ethernet cable from my 360 to my laptop and do it that way?
it says it pickin it up as an adapter but it fails the ip address test

it says:

"your console was unable to negotiate a lease with your DHCP server. Make sure that addresses are available on your server"

yes there is a way to do it, i did it. Use google, its your friend there is step by step on there.

I dont know alot about running it through your computer, but you dont have a router? If you dont have a router, I would expect that you need to unplug the computer and plug in the xbox. I used to do it this way before I had a router. Other than that, I think you would need to use like a port forwarding or open a port for your computer to act as a router or a pass through. Not to sure. I wouldnt run it through the computer anyway......go straight to the modem.

I think hes trying to use his laptop to bridge the wired connection of the xbox to be able to use wifi with it. If so yes you can do it. it is not a fun task thought. i have tried numerous times and just said fuck it and made my own wireless bridge, which might be an easier solution

Here's how you do it...

Lay your Xbox on its side, and spin it around. Look on the back of it, and on the top left corner, you'll see a plastic cover piece. Take that piece off.

Now, slide your finger into the hole created where you just removed that piece, pick up the Xbox, and launch it into the street. Go to wherever you go, get a PS3 and play me and ~C~ in SOCOM (when I get it of course)
