plastic bag over a worn out or damage debit car???
why is it that when you put a plastic bag over a worn out or damage debit card after it wont scan through a machine, it suddenly works???

I dont know.. Why is it if you spit on the striper before sliding your card thru. your card will last for years instead of months

I used to be a cashier and whenever someones card wouldn't work, they'd try using a bag like you said. Looked dumb as hell but it worked half the time.

ding ding we have a winner, I work in a wachovia call center alot of customers call about this and thats what the cause is the card stops working because the card's magnetic strip is not as strong as it once was. however the plastic bag provides static electricity which can allow the card to be read. |

Actually it has to do with dead spots and the small amount of space the bag or tape provide is enough to seperate those from the reader coil.
