I know, vfast. This was a fun final lab experience to end the year. I do not truly plan to enter the oil industry. I am a huge fan of wind energy

you made no mention of limiting the plots in your initial post. You specifically mentioned targeting other investors to REMOVE competition from the playing field in order to force your last only competitor out of business. What's the definition for "trust" established under the Sherman Act?

Did I greatly impede interstate commerce (with a 10k acre plot of land)? No. Therefore /Fail

and

Yes, wind. Love it or hate it. Wind energy is free once the infrastructure is in place. My next favorite alternative is tidal energy (the buoy-piston method)

Again, you never mentioned the 10k plot of land in your initial post, I can only comment on the information I am provided. You forcefully eliminated competition to monopolize the playing field. I'm assuming your refineries are not located on site and you'd therefore be selling or shipping that oil to another state for eventual sale.

Wind energy will never be a viable solution, it may help here and there, but is not cost efficient, not reliable, and to raise enough energy it would require unrealistic amounts of land. And wind energy is not free once the tower is built, there are maintenance costs continually, not to mention a relatively short shelf life compared to a power facility.

Another profitable location is in the desert east of the Rockies. Here, hydroelectricity is currently used (as is a little geothermal energy), but there are obviously severe droughts in this region. With mountain winds, wind farms can net great profits and power entire cities and employ a lot of the potentially available positions in a struggling economy.

Yes, you went with the information you had, but I assure you, it takes a lot more to be convicted of anti-trust actions and ventures. The government regulates mergers of larger and public companies via the SEC. If I would be in violation of anti-trust clauses, the SEC would not have granted my smaller, public company the rights to merge with the competition.

If I was later found to be monopolistic in nature, the SEC would have ordered a breakup and fines. None of this happened in my simulation.

Well, I am okay with this. For example, 86.1% of the land in NV is owned by the government. This otherwise useless land would be suitable for creating energy. Giving some to Las Vegas seems fine to me
