Firefox Add-ons not working..Help?

My adblock plus just magically stopped working. It's really really annoying. It's been working just fine and then suddenly there's ads everywhere. My download manager stopped working too. I looked and both are enabled in the options and both say they're working fine. They've been updated a few days ago. What's up?

Same thing happened to me about two weeks ago. Its not Firefox. Its an ad-ware virus. This thing is NASTY. It will attach itself to your operating programs and start to re-write them. My brother-in-law installed a program on my computer to get rid of it but it was too late. My home computer wont even boot up now. You need to disconnect from the internet and get it cleaned. The longer you stay hooked up , the worse it will get.

did you try uninstalling it then reinstalling? reboot? etc. etc.

I did reboot the computer, but I didn't uninstall and reinstall.

I will get the name of the program my brother-in-law used when he gets off of work. This virus is crazy. As fast as your anti-virus,spy ware and ad blocker is detecting it and quaranteening it, it is adding more. You cant delete or block them fast enough.

No problem, but it will be tomorrow before I can post it. I have to use my work computer right now and I am about to go home.

The programs he used were:
Ad-Aware and Super Anti Spy Ware ( this one he downloaded from Download.com)

I hope this helps.

Im getting off of work now and wont be back on till Monday unless I can get my computer repaired or go buy a new one (and I dont see that happening) so good luck and Ill check back Monday.

Yeah, actually I think whatever I had was erasing my filters on adblocker. I realized what was happening is that everytime I got a subscription and filters they woudl be gone as soon as I closed and reopened firefox. I got it all fixed though with those programs and I used a few more for good measure. Thanks, man.
