trouble opening top

Last night I had trouble putting my top back up for the first time in her 65k. I am pretty handy with a wrench but have no idea where to start when it comes to convertibles. The motor engages but I had to help it up manually. I want to avoid paying out the wazoo and fix this myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am new to this site.

Nothing huh? I was just wondering what parts wear out more commonly. Like should I be looking towards the motor-pump or what? No love for the newb.

Check the motor, flush it (the pump), make sure there's no air bubbles in the system. If that doesn't work, then it's possibly time for a new motor.

Thanks for the direction. How would I go about flushing the system?

I am willing to bet that unless you have a leak in the system (in which you would probably see some fluid outside) that there is no problem with air. I bet the motor is going. Mine is working fine, but over the course of 10 years, I found the motor to not be as strong as it used to be. I think it depends on how much it is being or has been used.

But, like Leftorium said, may as well check the shit.
