Maintenance To Convertible


is there anything special i need to do to maintain the convertible motor running good? is there anything like overworking the convertible top?

Default

put Mink Oil on it once a month. The coating will make it more durable. just make sure to apply it monthly

try not to leave it down on cool nights.....the older the top gets the less flex it has, and on nights where it drops below 60 i have to give it a good tug to latch it down.

Also, if u leave it down it the hot sun it's horrible for leather interior.....will cause it to crack and tear early

Yep, helps it expand and shrink with no negative effects and fends off the weather too.

also i just noticed that when it rain, it leaks inside the car? what can i do?

where does it leak in the car?

my tops rear window leaks when it rains heavy...... the seal isn't perfect anymore.

yeah, the seal is pretty much shot and worn......

the only way to fix it is to have the top replaced that i know of. U could try taking a very thing line of silicone and apply it where it seaps in, but i doubt it will last for very long.

After it rains i have to dry the compartment where the tops sits when it's down with a towel.....otherwise water tends to pool up in heavy rains.

lol i have that problem too...i went the other day to get a price on a top and they wanted 1400...i was like umm...no ill order 1 and do it myself lol

i mean i live in arizona, so we dont get much rain out here, but can that water do damage over time? can it leak to electric wiring or anything like that from the back?

the well liner catches most the water, i have never had my well liner leak, but i do have the same problem as you guys, i keep a towl back there to soak that shit up, i dont want it making my floor pans rust out

is there anything to clean a white top that will actually clean? my top ruins my car! i need to just get a black top for it and be done with it.. any suggestions?

I think that Maguires makes a vert care kit that comes with a cleaner for white tops
