Metco has released their new re-designed Double Bearing Idlers for the 03-04 Cobra, 99-04 Lightning, and any Mustang using a 8 or 10 Rib Supercharger system. That includes the Shelby GT500. We just got a set in today for a customer and they look real good.
You might ask yourself do I need to upgrade my idlers? Well if you are running stock idlers than keep in mind that under stress these idlers have been known to fail and split. If you currently have the single bearing idlers, than you can upgrade to these double bearing idlers. One of the common problems with the single bearings idlers when used in high boost applications is the single bearing is not sufficient for the added belt loads and thus fails. If you have ever heard a bad pulley bearing you know how annoying the squeak can be.
Another great feature of the Metco Double Bearing Idlers is the belt surface and the back side of the pulley is hard coat anodized for a long lasting finish. The idlers also include dust covers to keep dirt and debris out of the bearings ensuring them a long lasting life.
