These need to be available for all mustangs, and all need to be available in 10 inch widths!

Hey according to your website the 17x8 comes in 0 offset and 7 offset, so 4.5'' backspacing and 4.77 backspacing, is this correct? 4.77 backspacing is supposed to be a better fit on all classic mustangs and allows more tire to fender clearance. If this is correct I will be buying a set, but I find it hard to believe they would make the wheel in both 4.5 and 4.77 backspacing on a 17x8 5x4.5.

You are correct thevirus. This wheel model is produced in sizes 17x8 5-114.3 ET0 (4.5" BS) and 17x8 5-114.3 ET7 (4.77" BS). We do have both the gunmetal and chrome finishes available in size 17x8 ET7 for you

How come when I go to the MB wheels website these old school wheels are not even listed on there? Are these wheels even made by MB? I read on another forum that MB might have bought all these wheels from Coys as it is the exact same design as the COY c-55. Wait a minute I just read these wheels are actually made by Voxx, why are they called MB? Voxx lists 17x8 with 6 offset which is 4.73 backspacing, discount tires site lists them as 17x8 7 offset 4.77 backspacing, if they are actually 6 offset that is not what I need, UGH! http://www.voxxwheel.com/component/v...&category_id=1 Do I get any discount for being a member of this forum?
What size tires would you recommend on a 1965 mustang, going with the 17x8 with 7 offset 4.77 backspacing in gunmetal. Do I need do relocate the upper control arm to fit these wheels on there? I was thinking of using 235/45/17 tires all the way around. I appreciate any help, thanks. Last edited by thetvirus; April 19th, 2010 at 12:00 AM. |

The MB brand is a Discount Tire brand. There are a few different manufacturer's that build wheels for this line. Yes, Voxx does build the Old School for us. These are available in a 17x8 with a 0mm or 7mm offset and 17x9.5 with a 6mm offset.
Unlike some of our competition, we don't inflate our prices just so we can offer select groups a discount, instead, we guarantee the lowest delivered price to everyone that purchases from us. I don't think you should need to make any modifications to bolt a set of 17x8 +7mm offset Old Schools up. These wheels pull up through my fitment guide as a guaranteed fit. (given you are still running stock suspension) The 235/45R17 would be a great size for all 4 corners. If we can help you more please call us at 1.888.459.4080. There are usually two of us that message on our sponsored forums but Matt is on vacation for the week and I am a little behind. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you, but who is correct, Voxx wheels website say they have 6 offset and discount tires website says they have 7 offset, which is it 6 or 7? Thanks.

What offset would you recommend for a 1979 Camaro? What sort of backspacing is on each offset from where the hub attaches to rim lip? I'm looking into 17x8's for the front and 17x9.5 rears.

I have to dig deeper on this one. I'll get back to you. I am finding conflicting information as well.

Well I bought the wheels and wow, these wheels are nice quality and do look like they should cost twice the price as others have stated. I think they are better looking than american racing wheels and at $141 each they are a steal compared to a similar american racing wheel for $340 each. The box the wheel comes in says the offset is +7 and the backspacing is 4.75'' which is perfect fit on classic mustang. One of the few wheels which comes in the correct 4.75'' backspacing, glad I got them, they are amazing. I ran 235/45/17 tires all around with all stock suspension 65 mustang, and there is plenty of clearance, I probably could have easily ran a 245/45/17 or 245/40/17 no problem.
