Tread Wear Indicators:

Dry Performance

ExtremeContact DWS has a unique "chamfered edge" technology for dry performance. This dry road surface technology generates greater acceleration grip, handling and braking traction in dry conditions. Wet Performance

I'm considering these tires. One thing making me think twice about them is they have an A traction rating while many other tires in this category are rated AA. Doesn't that put these at a performance disadvantage, at least on dry pavement?

Actually the traction rating has nothing to do with dry performance. This is strait from the books...

"The Traction rating is a measurement of a tires's ability to stop on a straight, wet surface under controlled conditions. It does not indicate the tire's cornering ability on a wet surface or its traction on ice or snow.

Grades include AA, A, B, C and AA being the highest grade available. "

Thanks for the information. I do a lot of driving in wet conditions where traction is bad to begin with, so I guess AA traction is more important than I thought.
