Discuss the New Hankook Ventus V12 EVO [PICS/VIDEO]

Take a look at one of Hankooks newest tires. The Ventus EVO 12. This tire was release not too long ago and its quickly gaining in popularity. I have been more and more impressed with the product I have see Hankook deliver and this one is no exception.
Here's what Hankook says:
Hankook Ventus tires are designed to deliver the ultimate in handling by offering exceptional control and superb braking. Hankook is able to achieve this level of performance by using innovative Multiple Tread Radius design and advanced compound technology. The Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110 tires provide the precise control and superior responsiveness that are required for performance under extreme driving conditions.

TECHNOLOGY

-Solid center rib block

The solid rib block in the center enhances braking performance. It also ensures optimal ground contact pressure and control response at high speeds for excellent handling.
-Efficient water drainage

Wide linear grooves and aggressive Y-shape pattern design effectively channels water away from the tire.
1) Jointless Bead Wire & High Hardness Bead Filler:

Improves high speed stability while maximizing steering response and durability without sacrificing ride comfort.

2) Wide, High-Tensile Steel Belts & Jointless Two-Cap Ply:

Enhances tread strength for added steering response and wear resistance. This also improves uniformity for a smooth ride and durability.

3) Rim Protector

Provides better protection against outer shock or rim scratches.
-High density nylon reinforcement belt:

Optimized for even distribution of ground contact pressure during cornering.

Yeah, I know guys, a 315 would be a great size for this tire, 275/40R17 as well.

Yep. It's like all the good tires come in every size except 315/30/18's

Like the BF Good. KDW2. Comes in a 305 I believe and a 335. why can they make that tire in every size except for the 315/30

Finally got my Hankooks mounted. The first thing I noticed was that the ride was noticeably more comfortable than on my old fuzions. It feels like it just handles bumps in the pavement much better. Secondly they are just incredibly quiet. So A+ for comfort, noise, and ride quality. Now on to more important matters: the performance. The hankooks seem to hold very nicely when I throw the mustang around corners. The car just seems much more sure-footed now compared to the fuzion zri's. Finally, for straight line performance, they seem to perform quite well. They give a chirp and then grab where my fuzions would have broken free completely. Overall I am very impressed with this tire, especially when compared to other options at the price level. I am looking forward to the first time it rains because these things look like they will be able to make the water it's bitch. When we get some rain in Green Bay, I will give you guys an update on how they grip when it's wet.

Hey, Discount tire, my front tires are almost bald and i can't afford tires!!!

When are you gonna give away some more free stuff?

Those EBC yellowstuff's are awesomely great, but contrary to what their advertising slogan is, they provide more bite, with MORE dust.

I've never seen a car with more brake dust than i have right now on my front two rims from those EBC's... And i've gone through 2 other different brands of rotors.

We currently do not have any giveaways in the works but as always we do guarantee the lowest delivered price on all the products we carry If you can find a competitor with a cheaper delivered price, we'll certainly beat it.

I talked to my local Discount Tire store yesterday and they would price match the lowest price I found on these Hankook's,, However the sales guy kept using some funny math in giving me the out the door price,,

Their advertised online price was $168,,, the price match was,, 136-plus shipping, making $157 each,, PLUS they were adding another $48 for shipping to the total plus state sales tax, replacement cert's and mounting costs pushed the OTD price to $920 ...

WTF ??? we argued for a little while and even dropping the tire replacement certs they still wanted 800 ... I told em' they are too high ...

Needless to say,,, I just ordered a set of these Hankooks from onlinetire for 630 shipped,, I can have them mounted for fifty-bucks at my neighborhood gas station,,

Good luck ..

Sorry to hear about your recent experience. There was certainly a breakdown in communication on our end. In the future, I suggest speaking with the store manager regarding a price match to make sure you get the best possible deal.

For others viewing, tires purchased and installed through Discount Tire/America's Tire come with lifetime mounting/balance, free rotation, free flat repair, and pro-rated road hazard protection. These free services are not included with most on-line tire companies.

Ok, update time. Still freaking love these tires. Still comfortable, still tons of tread life (even after a trip to the track and some *ahem* spirited driving), and best of all... I can drive normally in the rain. I'm more than happy with the hankooks. Everything I had hoped for and more.
