Re: MS3 for 1995 GT
Hi Matt.
This site doesn't allow private messages with post counts as low as mine -- apparently my first one "got through" to you by mistake, but now I can not reply via PM or email. Thus I hope you do not mind me posting my response to you here. If so, please delete this and email me. Thank you! Original PM reply: Thank you for the detailed message and suggestions. I am comfortable with soldering and assembling electronic devices, so I would opt for a DIY route. I have been doing some homework related to the products on your site, and I have arrived at a slightly different direction with respect to your suggestions. Please let me know your thoughts: Regarding going distributorless, my main concern is enabling the car to be easily returned to a stock condition if I needed to sell it. Thus, I would be inclinded to keep the Ford factory wiring harness and add a Ford EDIS system from an early-mid 90’s car (EDIS module from Mark VII or whatever, Explorer sensor mount and so on) and retain the factory wiring. I believe this setup could be satisfied with your Megasquirt II system, is that correct? My understanding is that the Ford EDIS-8 system only has two lines back and forth to the computer: SAW going one way and PIP going the other. I’ve seen some folks make it work with the factory EEC-IV with little trouble. Thus, I am thinking of something along the lines of: MS230-K Megasquirt-II E4C3-M5-9495 94-95 Mustang Adapter Harness (Very attracted to this) EEC-4K EEC-IV Board Kit (Is this necessary with the adapter harness?) JimStim-K JimStim Stimulator kit StimPower Power supply for JimStim IATwPiggy Intake Air Temperature Sensor (Where would this mount?) 38NPT-Bung_A Aluminum bung for IAT sensor (Where would this mount?) Plus one of the wideband options. Does the above list make sense? Do you think I should still pursue an MSIII system? Thank you for your time. Regards, Bravin Neff |

I have been working with Bravin by email, in case anyone was wondering. For others following along:
1. The EEC-IV adapter board is a substitute for, and is not used with, the adapter harness. 2. The IAT sensor would go in the intake tract just upstream of the throttle body for best results. |
