New Best, Free Mod...

Went to the track last night and it ended bittersweet. My game was alittle off tonight

First with the sweet, got 2 passes, 55F and 30.46 pressure on the first pass, 12.71 @ 108.04. Good wheel hop spun 2nd, didn't powershift, shortshifted at 6000 into 2nd and shifted to 4th at the end. So lots of room for improvement.

Second run temp dropped to about 49F and pressure was the same. [B]12.562 @ 108.74[B]! Burnout could be improved, lots of wheel hop, spun good in 2nd and chirped 3rd. 1.819 60ft. With a better burnout, no wheel hop no spin in 2nd and 3rd I feel she will pull a 12.49/8.

Third run, problem. Pulled to do the burnout and the tone of Red changed, BIG TIME. The tone change distracted me so anouther bag burnout. lined up next to a C5 vette. Light goes green and launch, pull 1/2 length on the vette and power 2nd and nobody is home. So I just cruise the last bit of the track. Perfect 20 sec run!! That would have been an awsome run with the vette, my other 2 runs were with 15 sec cars so not that much comp with those. But smoken a vette would have been Kick Ass!!
Come to find out my muffler came lose, it stayed on the hanger. last week my buddy took it off and welded the hanger (it was broke and rattling) but he never tighten the clamp back!! So my night was done. By the time I got it back on it was a 2 hour wait.

Now for the Free Mod...Pulled off my front sway bar. Left the factory radiator support on. 6 bolts and 15 min. Front end pulls up waaay better nice mod and I have not knowticed any difference in the drive. There is a cloverleaf ramp I take going to work, with the sway bar 40mph was it, without the bar 40mph feels just the same. So try it out if you want.

Sorry Long

Thanks!! I need to break down and just buy some LCA, before I break something! Wheel hop/chatter all over the starting line. BRING ON THE 12.4X!!!!!!! lol

The bad thing is that I never got a chance to back up that 12.56 run.

doesn't matter, the time slip is the time slip and I saw it after you ran! There's the proof to back it up. Later

Try deleting the powersteering next time you go to the track. Although not "free" it will only cost you a belt.
Nice times.

hte??

If you are talking about removing the sway bar, I can't tell I removed it. There is a highway that has the cloverleaf entrence I use everyday to go to work, with the sway bar 40 mph was comfortable, without it 40 mph is still comfortable. No more twist than before. But when you get down and dirty and launch it at the track (and on the street) the front end lifts up WAY more than without it. There was a big diff. in the way it launches without the bar.
My wife also drives Red everyday, I never told her I took it off, and she has never knowticed a diff. in the ride.

Nice times on the car..You could pick up a couple of tenths if you went with 410 gear.

Thanks guys!
I will knock out the questions with one post....
I use the 275/40/17 Nitto DR, and if warmed up good stick like glue. It was cold that night and I had trouble with 2nd gear sticking, but I am still learning how to do a good burnout.
I have the 3.55 factory gear, and can drive in a straight line pretty damn good. I have no plans for a gear sway, I need LCA first then a blower before all else. Plus cold weather help BIG time, in warm/hot weather I will be running 12.8/9's. Also the DR are about 3/4" shorter than the 18's I have and it makes the car feel like what I would imagine a 3.73 would feel. I think a 4.10 would be too much for a standard, I would go 3.73 if I did do a sway and going 3.55-3.73 is not that big of a jump.
