AZ vs MI dragstrip

So I am originally from MI and moved to AZ about two years ago. I own a 2003 Mustang GT 5 speed that was bone stock with the exception of a flowmaster catback exhaust and a K&N airfilter back in MI and had taken it out to the track back in MI (Milan Dragway) and was able to run a best time of 14.0703 @ 98.55mph. Now two years later and several performance upgrades including 305/35/18 Nitto drag radials, FRPP 4.10 gears, FRPP aluminum drive shaft, steeda short throw shifter, bassani offroad xpipe, diablo sport tuner, bbk cold air intake, accufab throttle body and plenum, steeda udps I take it to Speedworld in AZ and run a best time of 13.9745 @ 99.08. How could this possibly be?

So is it the air out here, or is it the difference in elevation? I heard the same thing about Firebird and am thinking about going out there on a Friday for test and tune just to check it out. I was getting less traction at Speedway then I do on the street. My best 60ft was 2.0270 and my best 1/8th was 8.9916 @ 79.72, which are only a little better than what I ran stock on street tires in MI. Im just looking for a reason to not be upset with all the money I have put into this car to not really cut time off in the 1/4.

your problems are looking like elevation (600 vs. 1400+), traction (60' not the greatest), weather , & expectations ( with mods stated 5 tenths +/-). get some better tires (18' d/r's dont have enough sidewall height for a stick car looking for max traction). get the traction thing worked out & you should be looking at a 13.5 maybe a little better.
