Advice on good launching

So I went to the track yesterday, and got a 13.9. meh...i should be doing better, but im ok with that. I really want some advice though on launching, when i tried not to let my tires spin, i bogged and my time SUCKED. when i launch a little higher i spin a lot. I guess i just want advice on how fast to let off the clutch...how much gas i shud be giving it...lol. i tried talkin to people there, but it didnt help. im thinkin i shud remove my front sway bar? is that bad for daily driving though?

practice makes perfect lol ive been to the track a couple times and the best i got was launching at an rpm that wouldnt spin the tires and not dumping the clutch but not letting it out too slow. idk about removing the sway bar.

drag radials man lol, with my stock 245 tires i found my best was revving up to around 3600 rpms and when the light turned green slowly letting out of the clutch while slowly giving it gas, it only got me a 2.2 60ft but it felt good, car started rolling slow and once the clutch grabbed the tires gave a short chirp and i was out with no spinning, i agree that it takes alot of practice, i just got a pair of 275 bfg drag radials though so we will see what happends saturday morning when i break them in at the track

yea man gotta kinda ride the clutch out....i took mine to the track this past weekend, and was dumping the clutch at around 3800 RPM and the clutch would just slip, and the best time i got was a 10.0009 @ 74.9 mph (8th mile)

yea i've got the front sway bar taken outta mine...it does help...but i'm saying when you launch it don't dropp the clutch let it out kinda quick but still controlling it and not dumping it.

It was a kinda tough to reach 2 of the bolts but it took me about 30 min. When I launch I bring it up around 3k rpms and slip the clutch. I've heard this exact question asked a million times and no one can ever give a straight answer. When you find out the correct way to do it let me know. I've just been doing trial and error so far. I got an 8.1 with a 1.8 60' so I guess it's working. Haven't gotten times with the new control arms or swaybar delete yet though.

lol i agree, i was making the mistake of just dumping the damn clutch, honestly first time i'd ever ran a car on the track. all my other racing and stuff had been done street racing...so you can dump the clutch and the car will just spin...on a well prepped track...it hooked dumping the clutch at 3800 rpms..and felt great for about 10 ft. till the clutch decided to slip on lol..and the best 60 ft. i could get all day was 2.58 lmao.

oh and as far as taking 30 mins and that top bolt it was easy to get to....we just took the wheel off, and turned the steering wheel to get the rotor out the way and it was right there.

Ouch... Yea, drag racing is won and lost in the first 60 feet. On the track it's a completely different competition.
