My first trip to the track

Thursday 2/16/06:
Jackson, SC

I had a blast man. my first time out, got in 4 runs and got better at reaction time and got a couple descent runs but slower than i expected e.t.'s

by the way. here is my best of 4 runs timeslip:

car# 503
class: ---
dial: ---
R/T: .042
60': 2.292
330': 6.631
1/8: 10.146
1/8 mph: 70.33
1000': 13.140
1/4: 15.695
1/4 mph: 111.28

does my 1/4 mph seem high for that e.t.? i spun every run and had poor 60' times. i need to lock the rear and get slicks maybe just for the track. i cant believe i spun 315 tires after doing a burnout and just punching it.

thats rediculous getting 111 ph out of a 15 sec run. my old cobra ran ran 12.70@108 and it was s/c car. thats crazy you were spinning those too. your r/t is pretty damn impressive to for your first time out. and 2.2 60' doesnt seem to bad for a v6 but 111 mph is crazy. you sure ur readin that right. j/k.

Great numbers for sure. My 60 was at 2.3 and .25 was like a 15.0 at 91 MPH if you can get your launches down no doubt you will be running with stock gt's

Looks like you did just fine for your first time. GOOD JOB :award

I would understand about the MPH being a little too high if your 60' was like 2.6 or 2.8 but I dunno. This is on street tires, right?

yea, i am spinning 315 street tire. i need to lock the rear and maybe get 3.73:1, i dont know about 4.10:1 since i plan on charging the car. i have an old set of wheels i can throw some slicks on for the track, but im satisfied for my first trip out. i just need explanations for that trap mph being so high for that e.t.. i did spin on that run and hook at about 60'-80' and hooked good then and got halfway through 3rd gear at about 4k rpms at the light and held the gas a good bit past the trap, but i was shocked to see that mph for that time...

Your track's trap speed timer was messed up.

You definately need 4.10:1 because you are an auto.

yeah i had a truck that ran 14.2 at only 86 mph. i do think that the speed on that last run was wrong. but hey you did good for your first time out. my first time, my r/t were horrible but .49 is impressive. yeah autos need the 4.10 hat should give a couple a 10ths try some slicks too. have fun.

i was pleased with the .042 r/t too. i need to lock the rear before i go back out. i atleast need to lock the 7.5" rear, but i would rather go ahead and get the 8.8" and 4.10s. all in all, i had a blast though

Was it just one run that registered 111mph? It could be a fault in the timing system. I have also seen high horsepower cars run a high mile an hour when trying to get down the track on a street tire. There is a local guy with a supercharged fox body saleen on street tires that runs 130+ mph with high 11 second timeslips because he blows the tires off so bad for the first 300 feet.

not sure, i ran hard through a good ways past the 1/4 finish because i got a good jump off the line and felt strong and wanted to get a good run.

i only did 2 full runs and 2 r/t runs (one of which i pulled through the 1/8). could be the timing system error, but i did spin every time.

yeah theres something messed up with the mph, thats almost impossible, 111mph would be like your putting down about 350rwhp.
