Talking

took my car to the track last night.....

So Ive just been playing around with this 302 while I build my new 351 clev for my 89 hatch...

I have a 89 hatch with full roll cage, 410 gears with a spool, c4 with a trans brake, victor high rise intake with holley 750 double pumper, with 200 shot of nitrous straight out of the whole. kinda suprised me!

60ft=1.4
8th= 7.1 @ 96.mph havent ever ran the 1/4 with it I think Ill run out of gear in the 1/4

what do yall think about this? I thought it was pretty good for a pretty much stock motor.

i would run 1/8th, but neither of the tracks i goto run it. but i know what you mean about the gear. i know most run 4.56 or higher with 1/8, and thats a ton of gear!

thats great to hear man! been debating it. its gonna be a little while till i get one, but that was definetly at the top of my list. just need to get the suspension and a cage in order, and i'll be good to go to get more done on the drivetrain.

I run a Redneck Performance "loaded" C4. It's a beast. I love it. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a track ready C4. When I bought mine, upon delivery of it, I unwrapped it, looked it over, everything was groovy with everything. The only thing that surprised me was the BDU old military style camo paint job. I called their shop and was talking to the guy after I looked things over and I brought up "breaking it in" and the mans exact words to me were "Put it in the car and beat on it". Kinda surprised me, but for a man to say that about a newly built tranny tells me two things: 1- He is good at what he does 2:If anything did happen to it, they would stand behind their work. I wish I knew about them years ago. Wished I had 6 or 8 of their trannies ready to go on the shelf.

I have alot of friends that run BBC cars on the strip and they use his converters and couple of them use his transmissions.

When I first saw the tranny, I was like WTF kinda paint job is this? It looked like the guy has a team of 6yo doing his painting. Then when I opened the converter box, I then realized what was going on with the paint scheme. Me and one of my buddies just fell out laughing our guts out. My buddy looked over at me and just mouthed off the words "Redneck Performance". It was a funny site to see I tell you But I wouldn't trade my tranny for nothing, that thing is a beast. When I ratchet my shifter, it shifts right now, no delay of any kind, right now. It shifts fast enough that the nose of my car never noses back over untill I let off the gas. I love it.
