first time at the track

So I took my Mustang to the track today for the first time. I have not been to the track in at least 6 years, and at that time I was driving a 1995 Maxima. I'm pretty impressed with my #'s. Curious what you guys think considering what little mods I have done.

2008 Mustang GT
Roush CAI
Diablo tuner (with CAI tune)
Magnaflow exhause
Eibach springs
18" american racing Redline's
Toyo T1R (285/40/18 in the rear)

...my best time was 13.421 @ 108mph

Maybe it's just me, but I feel like these are some pretty impressive #'s. What do you guys think? THe car is a 5speed man by the way.

really good times considering you're on 3.31s. Give us the break down man. 60 foot, 1/8, what rpm did you launch from?

I was launching it at 2,500 and just dumping the clutch, and power shifting the rest. I didn't take my gas pedal off the floor until i passed the finish line.

60' - 2.029
1/8 - 8.705

it was coming out the hole real hard. i was shocked at how well it was hooking up off the line. my first pas i ran a 13.9 @ 101mph launched it at 2,000 to get a feel for the traction and it bogged. 2nd pass i line up against a Challenger srt8 and got a little over excited and tried to launch at 3,000 maybe even a bit higher, and i just smoked the tires, ran a 14.6... then i tried just over 2k a couple times did some 13.6's and 13.5's until i found the sweet spot at 2,500 and i ran a bunch of 13.4's... i tried going at about 2,800 but the tires screeched for too long and i lost mph.

when I ran that 13.421 i had a pretty big smile on my face!

well the way you are running now i say some 4.10s get you some 12s. maybe throw some lower control arms and a upper and you're there.

I have

heads, cams, full suspension, full exhuast, full bolt ons. tubular k member, 4.10s, mickey drag radials, skinnies up front to run 11s. Stock bottom end.

Nice, 11.88 is a sweet time for n/a

I'm thinking maybe some BBk headers and Mickey drag radials are my next step. Than take it to the track and see where I stand. Then work it from there.

You think disconnecting the front sway bar would do much to help off the line?

Conventional wisdom says yes. I tried it a couple of times and it never helped me any that i noticed. The 11.88 run was with the swaybar on. I shortbelted the car, that helps a lot, bypassed the powersteering pulley.

Yea some drs will do wonders for you. figure for every 1/10 off the 60 some people say 3/10s off the 1/4. You probably know that though, doesnt look like this is your first rodeo.

My 60 on that run was a 1.704 i think.
