First 11 second time slip!!!!

Well after alot of begging and babying the clutch the old girl finally cracked off an 11 second pass at the end of the night.

R/T .134
60' 1.851
330' 5.125
1/8th 7.781
MPH 96.44
1000' 10.066
1/4 11.970
MPH 115.42

The clutch was really hit and miss. I couldn't power shift at all or it would just go straight to 5k rpms. The other passes were: 12.23, 12.27, 12.66, 12.55, 13.05, 12.33. I was also pretty close to hot lapping the car for the last hour and a half. Ran at 9:52, 10:19, 10.42, 11:01.

I tried a few different launch rpms on the 2-step. Started out at 5200 rpms and blew straight through the clutch. Turned it down to 3200 and babied it through the gears to see if I still had a clutch. Went up to 3500 then 4200. Then I ended up at 4500 on the 11.97.

I really think with a good clutch the car should turn consistent 11.80s with no other mods.

These times are with a weak stock clutch, M&H drag radials 275/50/17, stock 3.55 gears, stock diff, stock tranny, stock driveshaft, stock control arms, stock panhard bar, stock shocks, Steeda lowering springs, stock heads, stock cams, stock bottom end, CMDP's, Steeda underdrive pullies, Steeda sport shifter, MSD 2-step, Turbonetics 60mm single turbo.

Now it's time to make the drivetrain and chassis work!!!

I remember the first time I saw an 11 second slip on the return road. I got so excited I almost puked. Had to get ahold of myself and calm down, get ahold of my emotions. Congrats on the 11sec rip

When I ripped off my first 11 second pass, I knew it was a good rip because when I launched the car hooked hard and pulled like a freight train out of the gate. Kinda took my breath for just a moment. I wasn't expecting my car to hook that well. I knew it was a good rip. I was clapping to myself inside the car as I was applying the brakes and coming up the return road. My adrenaline was pump at max capacity and I was shaking with nervous jerks. Got to the time ticket booth and the lady gave me my slip and I was reading it as I drove off. Got to a turn I had to make as I finished reading it, had to stop for some people walking. I started applauding myself again screaming hell yeah's to myself, kissing the steering wheel and all. As I rounded my turn, there sat my wife on the 4 wheeler with the two boys clapping and shaking her head at me as she knew what my goals was for the car. All I wanted to do is rip it off into the 11's and it did it on the second pass of the car's life. It was at the point when I saw my wife clapping for me as I passed and all the emotions running wild when I almost puked. Kinda thing happened to me before once, but it was when I killed my first deer when I was a young teenager. My Father didn't hunt, so I had to mostly teach myself from what I read in books, seen on TV and heard from friends. So I guess you can say I's be one emotional bitch. Especially when I am giving one of my children a motivational speech. Or anything to do with my children gets me worked up.

That's a great accomplishment, and a nice looking car to boot. Usually when a car gets below 12s, it starts looking more like a track car only, and less like a stock DD.

I know of a 6er turbo in Florida that's faster however...

Also depends on what you call a daily driver. anyone can take a 9 second car and drive it 10 minutes a day and call it a daily driver. My car gets driven HARD a minimum of 600 miles a week and in whetever heat, thunderstorms, hail, ice, that southeast Texas can throw at it.

The main point here is that I got my goal of 11 seconds in a stock suspension, stock drivetrain, stock motor car.

Good Day!!!

Thumbs down

Hey! Congrats on your first time in the 11's!

There is no way to describe the emotions when you get in the 11's, or 10's. It's such a good feeling!

Mannn...and in a stock GT. This is awesome!
