best way to drag race

What would be the best way to launch at a drag strip? I been launching at about 1000 rpms and then going pedal to the metal. Is this the best way considering what I have done to my car?

let's see a dyno sheet and we'll get you an exact shift point

edit: nm, you're talking about launching. this takes a lil experimenting with the rpms. if you bog down a lil, then you want to rev higher. if you spin, then you want to rev lower. you've got to find that sweet spot (for that day). every day, your launch point is going to change because of multiple variables (temp, humidity, track condition, etc).

The best way to find out will be to go, check your stats, another run till you get your best time.... Launch higher when you have sticky tires.

Clutch pedal? power shifting is your friend which is shifting without taking your foot of the accelerator but quickly....

are you stick or auto?

I'm stick, and before i did the rear end swap i was slip the clutch a little. dont just dump the clutch. that helped on higher RPM take offs to minimize spin.

now that i got the 8.8 rear end on some mickey Thompsons ET Streets i'm almost doing 4-5k RPM clutch drops and not spinning.

god i love sticky tire.

unless your on slicks, slowly ease into it. personally, i run mine up to 6200 and jump off the pedal and hold on for dear life. but on street tires thats no easy feat....
