Removing Your Sway Bar

I know that it transfers weight but i also have heard that its hard on the car when yankin and bankin. Anyone have some personal exp. with it, such as noticeably better ET pickup?

One more question, struts? Are the expensive KYB ajustables worth it for dragracing?

I took mine off like a year ago. I dont even notice a difference in normal daily driving.

Edit -

Although when you take hard corners faster than usual it will yank a little harder. But ive had no problems

Sway bar is there for Corners not Straight line.If you want the best of both worlds you can unbolt and take out the end links that go to the a arms so its like not having one at the track and then put the end links back in so you still have stability around corners.I would not do that lol, but i know someone who does.

well, i have been running without the sway for about a year now and i can really get the rear to plant with the slicks, but to say the least i cut 1.7's pretty regularly but have a 1.6 a time a two.

mine is off and its nice when launching, but IMO i dont like it just driving around, espically going at high speeds on the highway and having to turn fast.. for example if someone puls out in front of you.. it scared the pi** outta me

my front bar has been off my car since a month after i bought it. the car is perfectly streetable without it. i would keep the rear bar on, but without the front bar, your gonna be just fine. just no crazy cornering as it will roll over alot.

i run mine pretty hard thru the corners without the front sway bar, its not all that bad. there is body roll out the corners, but nothing too bad. i cut 1.6 60's all day long without the front bar.

You can feel a difference on the track and the street. Kinda feels like turning a boat during turns. It's not like any of us are going to autocross or anything though so cares about turning.

I took mine off to see what it was like. For the first week or so I could tell for sure, the body roll is fairly noticeable when you try to play with it, and you can definitely notice the weight transfer off the line. However while driving about normally you cant tell at all. I don't know how careless you guys all drive, but nowhere under normal driving do I ever notice any problems. Last night I dodged a deer while driving ~55mph, swerved quick over to the next lane, straightened it out and went back to my lane without any problem. Id say that any failure in emergency maneuvering would be more driver error than from lack of front swaybar.

Do it if you plan on seeing the dragstrip more than the autocross track.
