first time at track


well this was my best run
60ft-1.81
330ft-5.4
1/8-8.358
1/8mph-82.95
1000et-10.889
1/4et-13.021
1/4mph-105.76
let me know what you guys think,this was my first time at track and i don't know alot about these #'s.Is that a good 60ft time i was spraying 100shot off the line,didnt really do a good burnout prior to run,i was told with the nittos not to heat them up to much but again i dont know alot about the track, fill me in guys,thanx. also i'm working on converting video from dvd to computer so i can post it.

That's a better time than I've ever run.

(Of course I don't have a 100 shot of nitrous to work with).

Your 60' is good, especially for your first time!

Did you spin on the launch?

I find that you've got to give the Nitto 555Rs a nice long burnout to get the best out of them.

10-4 on heating those Nittos up !!! Smoke the hell out of them and they will hook on a good track !!!

not bad for your first time but the car should have much more in it. I'd say it's time for a trip back to Tim's (Don will be coming up in early Aug. & mabie you could have him look at your tune) & some more trip's to the track. keep up the good work though.

thanx guys i did spin alittle on take off i never had the car dyno tuned i just got american muscles custom tunes for 100shot when i bought sct tuner so u think if i get car dyno tuned it will really bring the car to life

like I said, give Tim (Rodeheaver's) a call, Don Lasotta will be there in early Aug. for a dyno day & he should be able to help you out.

ok,thanx tim i will be calling to set up time to get it on dyno(just to see how much hp & tq it got,as for the dyno tune i'm going to wait until i get some of the other mods(longtubes,cams and possibly supercharger in spring,i hope).what about spraying off the line should i set it up to start spraying in 2nd instead of first,like i said i only spinned alittle off take off?

im assuming bolt ons and a 100shot...how high elevated are you cause those cars usually hit 12s pretty easy on the juice

he was at our home track, it's 1300' & yes the car should have a bunch more in it.

with that much gear & spraying that much a tune should be in your plan's now as oposed to later,

Good 60' times. My best with a 100 shot was 8.1x on nittos, so you have a little left in it.

just wondered about the ele. while the o/p's time's aren't bad, at our track I'd expect the same time slip from a mild bolt-on new edge with a stick & 4.10's with out spray (many have done it).

i think a couple more times to the track i can hit 12's frequently(high 12's)i improved my times from 1st to 2nd run by 13.14 to 13.02 and 60ft 2.03 to 1.81 so being as close as i'm to 12's i think practice will get me there and once i become more comfortable at the track i think that will help me because i was so damn nervous last week at the track my hands were shaking

as for bolt ons i don't know if i'm considered mildly modified or not my mods are
k&n intake

magna pack exhaust
sct tuner with custom tunes
4:10 gears

hey i talked to tim today he said if he would adjust parameters on my tuner he said i could possibly pick up 2 tenths not for sure though,he did say that don is the best around but told me to get the mods i want first because u will pay to be tuned by the bestthanx for the advice because i would of thought that would be all the car could produce currently but i do think that i can get in the very high 12's in current trim with practice
also i dont have a short throw shifter which tim said could pick me up 1 maybe even 2 tenths so thats my next buy,thanx again
