are these things good ideas?

so ive always though for like a street car on the track does removing the air filter make a difference? or removing my hood to remove a little bit of weight? do those things make a difference at all? if so what other minor adjustments can i make to my street car to make it get that extra .01 knocked off?

leave the hood alone (most track's wouln't let you run with out one anyway) & also the air filter. if you want to take out a little weight try removing the spare & jack & any extra junk you might have in the car.

yeah you likely can't keep the hood off. not only that but it'll kill aero properties. take out back seats, they're prolly like 20 lbs or so, jack, spare tire, etc...

if you really wanna lose weight with the hood then get like a fiberglass hood or something lightweight similiar.

i think removing the airfilter is stupid, there really is no point in doing so unless you want to suck shit up. Are you trying to race that v-6?

lol at all that stuff/work just to know off a tenth of a second. their is no way in hell that i would remove my a/c escpecially in texas just to save 30lbs. but that's just me.
to the OP, get another car and strip it and use it for the track. i have a street car too and when i go to the track i race it w/ spare, jack etc. a true full weight car and still kicking ass (or getting kicked lol)

Yeah, I should have put a smiley at the end. Please don't drive on your rotors.

I wouldn't worry about weight reduction on a V6. No offense, but a tenth off of slow is still slow.
