Broke My Dragstrip Cherry

I ran a best of 13.24 on drag radials. Only mod is the blower, power pipe, and short shifter. I don't think it was too bad my first time out with the Bullitt. I have to say I pulled the biggest newb move...I left the traction control on and tried to do a 1st gear burn out.

After someone pointed out what I did wrong I laughed pretty good and then took her back out to do it right. The first run with having the traction control on I ran a 14.24!

Then when I did it right I ran the 13.24. I shaved off a whole second by doing it the right way with a good 2nd gear burn out. All in all it was a fun time and very addictive.

That trap and 60' tell me you got mid/high 12's coming soon. What in the world where you racing in the right lane? Looks like he let off pretty early and still got a 9 second run.

no offense but i know a guy with a vortech gt that ran 8.6 at the track...i honestly thought something was wrong with his car running that bad with a blower.

i guess nothing is wrong with it. just seems bad that i run one tenth slower than you in the eighth and your blown. not to mention a bone stock ls1 will run that. would be nice to see your times though when or if your able to get the sixty foot down some more.

Whats your point? It's a bonestock car other than the blower and the first trip to the track. The car is nowhere near setup to get the full potential out of that blower. Give it some time, it'll get quicker.

The guy running next to me had a F-Body with a parachute if that tells you anything. lol I didn't have a snowballs chance in hell running against him. But then again I wasn't there to race anyone; just trying to get the hang of things and do my best for a new guy.

You start off "no offense" and then proceed to bash me?!

If you read the post, this was my first time out (seems you didn't read that). You could have lent me some constructive criticism instead of coming off as an asshat...way to go fucko. How many times have you been down the track? I have a total of 4 passes under my belt, that's it. Well, I guess my blown Bullitt is still one tenth faster than yours in the 1/8. Have a nice day, sir.

To all others, thanks for the positive notes and I hope to get back out again and make some improvements.

Now to go scrub all the rubber off the car and get her looking good again.

I agree you did a very good job for your very first time at the track Justin. Hope it was fun and I was glad to have my fellow Bullitt owner along for the fun. Now

as for the Douche bag that is talking shit you would be more than welcome to run my stock motor Turbo'd 2000 Mustang gt and see if you can even come close! BTW great job comparing apples to oranges (350 to a 281) with the LS1 comparison.
