I usually "hang out" in the v6 mustang thread but i hate a quick question

what is am "okay" 0-60 time for a v6 mustang

now keep in mine my car is just a stock v6 with k&n intake kit thts it

its a 4 spd auto :-(

so what i can tell u is that on average i can do about 9 secs.

but my best is roughly 8-8.5 sec idk if thats good or bad or what ever im just wondering...

it takes me 10.94 seconds to hit 64.2mph in my 2.0 Liter 5 speed Mercury Mystique (according to time slip @ Beaver Springs Dragway PA) and their times are always a few tenths slow... so hopefully a little quicker than that.

there is a power diffrence between your two cars. so your times will not be the same.

1997- 150hp 4,000 rpm and 215 tq 2,750 rpm
2002-193hp @ 5500 RPM and 225 tq 2800 RPM

id say your are right were you should be man

less weight, shorter gears, makin not much less power (about 140 at the crank). I have the time slip from the drag strip if you wanna see it.

+1 its all about the power to weight ratio and how your trans is geared.

Yup, stock curb weight was right around 2800lbs... I removed the back seat, back seat belts and brackets, capet form trunk, and spare tire. Stock the car made 125hp and 130Tq. I put on an intake, strait pipe exhaust, hollowed cat, glasspack, and just basic tune-up stuff. Also run Seafoam thru it every month to keep it clean. Also running a 3.84 final drive. oh, it also has a newer transmission, new clutch, and running full synthetic in the engine and trans. I know most of it is little crap, but every little bit helps.

oh and sorry to hijack ur thread.
