Was at Los Angeles County raceway friday...

I went to the track friday for the first time, I came back disappointed. My best time was 14.325, I kept spining through first gear could not get traction. I started launching way under 2000rpm but still could not get traction. My mach 1 is all stock with regular street tires just a little wider. 275/40/17 and I brought it down to 29-30 pounds then tried 25-27 pounds. I started talking to a lot of people there and they said they were having the same problem. =( sucks, I was hopping to atleast be in the 13s.

My friend was also in the 14s and he thought he should be doing better with his Dodge srt-4, stage 2 and other add ons. his best time was 14.2-- something.
I will put some videos up soon, not the best quality though its with a regular camera that has video.

only running 14's......i had to be the track or the drivers, but if everyone was having the same issue then it's hard to say all the people there couldn't drive.

FINALLY, SOMEONE IN MY AREA. Your et times are not your fault, the track at LACR usually sucks MOST of the time. Its hard for anybody to get traction. You have to have slicks on that track to really see what your car can do. I dont think I will go there anymore. You should go to the Famoso track out in Bakersfield. I heard the tarmac is alot better there. Im gonna try that one out later.

lol, I can tell u for a fact (from experience), the problem is not the drivers, that track is where I got my best ET of 13.2, and I know my car will do better. When I get fully comfortable with my new clutch im gonna go to the famoso track and hopefully run a 13 flat or a 12.9. Then I'll save up for some drag radials.

What were your 60' times, and MPH? I know a stock Mach will do much better than that. Is sounds like that track isn't worth going back to. If you get on a good track, and get some practice in launching your car, it'll be a world of difference.

Heh heh I live in bakersfield, what area are you in? I just noticed today that they had a test and tune night at famosos 2nd-4th, if I would of known I would not have gone all the way down to palmdale. I dont think they have that many test and tune nights at famosos. LACR is having another one next weekend and I was thinking about going friday.

Yeah, I talked to a few people and some of them told me that they would run mid 13s but for some reason could not go lower than 14 that night.
I also know im not the best at driving but I atleast wanted to be in the 13s.

From what I can gather, your 60' is the I1 and a 2.235 could deffinantly be holding you back. A little better launch and you've got the 13's easily.

I think the I3 must be the 1/8th marker. I've gotta say a 9.317 is very slow for a Mach, and 77mph doesn't really show any faster times with traction. You should easily be in the low 80mph range.

At the 1/4 marker you should have been closer to 100 with your car. What RPM's are you shifting at? Did you shift into 5th before the final lights. I'm not trying to insult you, but your speed seems pretty low even for a bone stock Mach 1.

By the way, I think that M.O.V. represents the amount of victory. As in .316 seconds quicker or slower than the car in the other lane.

You should deffinantly look into some gears for your car. 4.10's or even 4.30's would help you out tremendously. Even if you spin more off the line, it'll make the car pull like a raped ape in the big end.

Oh yeah, with street tires, don't bother taking pressure out of them. It's gonna hurt more than it'll help.

Nope didnt go into 5th, I usually shift right under redline. What would be the best shift points for the mach? I was thinking of getting gears but was not sure if I should get some better tires first. It will be a while till I can get both so it has to be one or the other for now.

I would shift a stock Mach at 6500-6800. Gears will help more than new tires. You have a high revving motor and gears will help it get into the upper RPM range quicker.

Yeah thats around where I was shifting, I will save up a little money and get those gears, it will probably be about a month before I can get them. Thanks again for the tips...
