So I was sitting at an intersection where you get onto the freeway at ... like...7:30 at night or something. I'm just bumpin the tunes, windows down, not expecting to race anyone (I drive a V6, not a lot of HP). When all of a sudden, some guy in a lowered Infinity G35 - Black 22" chrome rims roles up. We're stopped, I'm looking at his car, admiring it, notice the girl in the passenger seat, when all of a sudden, he roles forward, lining up our tires. before I could look up, the light turns green and he steps on it. The onramp is a one laner, but the two lanes from the onramp merge into one. I had to get in front of him. A managed to pass the guy... even when he had an advantage. I was stoked that I pulled off a street drag against a G35. I thought that I was sure to lose off of the line.

no offense, but if u beat a G35 with a stock 03 v6 stang, that guy in the g35 can not drive, lol, Im assuming you're talkin about a 03-06 g35, which are low 14 sec cars.

i just raced a g35 saturday at a track, first race...i had a bad start but i lost by over 3 cars.
his car im pretty sure was stock...
to give you an idea, my car in the 1/8th should run 10.6-10.7ish
i ran 10.2 with just exhaust and intake and heavier rims..
i dont need the driver mod.

that g35 must have had a 12 yr old boy in there...aside from that he wasnt racing or i dont believe you

no bs. But im not sure if he had his foot to the floor. His tires squeaked of the line, and I had to put my foot to the floor so i dunno. The story is not bs, it really did happen.

And I just did the math of Hp to Curb Weight It turns out that the Infinity G35 only has a 12.45 Hp/ lb as opposed to my mustang which has 7.77Hp/ lb. Don't believe me, do the math, heres the links for each:

the gt-500 proved that that 500hp doesnt mean your cars gonna be quick

but the z06 proved different..both 500hp cars but the z06 will win by over a full second more in the 1/4 almost 1.5seconds against a s/c'ed car.....

22'' rims on a g35. Anything over 20's is just ridiculous on a vehicle like that. If I had one...I wouldn't do anything above 19's.

Dude. numbers don't lie. even if it were only like 1 hp/ lb then you've got a point, but it a good 5 hp off.

Think about what you're saying here. The 12.45 Hp/lb is better than your 7.77Hp/lb ration. That would mean he has 5 MORE hp per lb than you do. Maybe you meant 12.45 lb/hp ?
The infinity weighs about 3500 lbs, so at 12.45 Hp/ lb the car would have over 43000 horsepower. lol Sign me up for that one!

Anyways. I believe your story, you don't seem like a bullshitter to me. But there is no way that G35 was racing. That is a 280 horsepower car that runs mid to high 14's in the quarter. Granted, his 22's will slow him down a fair bit, but not that much. He may have been getting on it a little at first, and then backed off to let you in.
Find another G35 to challenge, and you will see what they really run like.
