tried the N2O out last night
I went to the race track again last night to try out the new M/T's I got. They hooked great, actually better than I expected! My first run was n/a with the tires at nearly 40psi! I forgot to check them... I got a 13.45 @105mph. This is a slower time and a slower mph than what I got on shitty street tires. It hooked so good coming off the line and that caused me to bogged really bad...
Second run: 92 octane and N2O, I launched fairly well but got into the N2O a little too soon and blistered the tires at the end of 1st and nearly all of second. Ran a 12.30 @ 114mph. 60' at 1.918, 1/8th at 8.05 and 90.99mph. I had the tires at 22psi this run. I was pumped thinking that I could probably get into the 11.xx's with a better run/launch. 3rd and final run: (the track here on t-n-t nights is PACKED) I fuelled up with 110 octane and chaged the tune. I let the tires down to 16lbs each and got in line. I think I backed up a little too much and got a lot of water on the tires, cause I did the usual quick burnout to clean off the tires and staged. When the green lit I sat spinning for what seemed like forever, I can only imagine that there was a lot of water on the tires still... 'cause the 60' went up to a 2.138, the 1/8th at 8.307 @ 90mph and the 1/4 in 15.57 @ 114.32 mph again. I kept the speed constitent , but lost a lot of time in the 60'. Any suggestions on what kind of tire pressure and how long of a burnout I need on M/T ET streets? I deffinantly need more practice, and I plan on going back Friday for more trial and error! |

Oh yeah, one funny thing from last night. The track here is full of imports, I mean, they out number ALL domestics by at least 5:1! When the bikes got finished, they called for the street cars which were all filled up in the staging lane. One guy called out to his buddy "Damn dog, they callin us, car aint even warm yet, that v-tech aint gonna pop, YO!" I don't really know what v-tech has to do with the Honda engines, but this made me laugh out loud when I heard it!

how'd you run 8.3 in the 1/8 and then 15.57 in the 1/4? unless its a typo
but what kinda shot of nitrous you have? cuz you ran a lot faster with it. anyway im not sure of your mods aside from nitrous but the second run was nice. good luck with the 11's....im wating for my street tires to go bad so i can get M/T like you have if they're DR's so im not sure how you'd go about getting a better spin out of them aside from a good burn out anyway good luck with hitting 11's

My bad, it was supposed to be a 12.57 in the 1/4 with the 100 octane tune. I'm still not too happy with those times. I'm in desperate need of a driver mod.

Cool, makes me want to put the bottle on my baby.
114s should get you into the 11 easily with a decent 60" time. When are you hitting the juice? Are you running MT drag radials or MT ET Streets? 2.138 is horrible even for drag radials. Sounds like you picked up too much water like you stated. I wouldn't let the pressure down much past 22 if they are drag radials. They are not designed to run a low pressure like a wrinkle wall stickie is. Drag radials can actually cup and lose some of your contact patch with too low pressure. More seat time will cure all ills. Get back out there and try and get some more runs it.

Yeah I am almost thinking of getting some kind of momentary button for the nitrous activation... So that I don't have to worry about not going full throttle on the launch and then waiting for more speed and traction until I activate. The M/T ET's are street radials. I was just kinda experimenting with the tire pressure though. I am thinking that 20 - 22lbs are the optimum pressure for those tires. Like I said I plan on going back tomorrow for some more runs. I wanted to run more last night but it was packed... I'm sure it's gonna get better!

I've got one already, it activates at 3200 and shuts off at 6200. I think the hardest part of launching it is the 4.30's, they are a bitch to launch without the nitrous...
I was thinking last night on this, I wonder if there is a button that works like an activation switch, except backwards? Like it would deactivate the system when I held it down and when I released it everything would work like normal. I don't know if that would help or not, but I'd like to try it. |

That's kick-ass man, I'll be curious to see what you run when you get her all set up just right.
![]() And is it just me, or does this phrase "Damn dog, they callin us, car aint even warm yet, that v-tech aint gonna pop, YO!" make any one else wanna start punching people in the face? lol

Mods are 4.30's off road x-pipe and a k&n intake and a great tune from VMP. The nitrous jets are labeled at 125, but I'm thinking that's a crank rating, cause I only saw a 98 hp increase at the wheels while it was getting dyno'd...
I feel like I'm doing o.k. for the n/a mods I've got, and I think I can do much better with some more practice. |

When you gonna get back out to perfect your craft? 12.57 on the juice is weak.
Practice, practice, practice. Definitly some better times in the car but it may take part of the season to get comfortable with everything to see the 11s. Good luck.
