1/8th mile SRT-4

Well I have a friend just get one, and I don't know much about them he claims 280 to the front wheels, but everywhere I read says 215bhp and all he has done that he has told me is a intercooler. so once I get my 4.10's and my t-lok I was wondering how you guys would think I would fair against it. This would be in a 1/8th not a 1/4 mile.

If you can launch then you may beat him to the 60' mark.... The gears will help, but not enough.

Sorry bro but even a bone stock srt 4 neon can beat a v-6 stang.

Good luck either way, and maybe he's the worlds worst driver and you can take him. Let us know how it ends.

I figured he would end up taking me I'll have full boltons by the time we run and possibly some cam work. What i'm really wondering is stock does he have 280hp?

I found, with google's help, that they make something like 215hp and 245tq. And the stage 1 models make somewhere around 250hp. I am assuming that these are crank ratings and not at the wheels.

Yeah those are the numbers i found for crank. Thats a lot of torque for a front wheel drive car no wonder everytime I have seen one race they bog.

The stock rating for an SRT-4 is 230 from dodge. At the wheels Stock most put down about 215hp(with a AGP cai, dumped exhaust and a hm boost controller mine made 245hp 266tq to the wheels)But that just depends on the dyno.

all my friends srt-4's stock put down 230 to the wheels and almost 265 ft lbs to the wheels stock, the cars are underated, most will trap 78-82mph stock in the 1/8th

Everyone I know can't stand the SRT-4's (aka skittles). That's probabyl because they never thought dodge/chrysler could make a neon go that fast. The only reason I beat one is because the driver bogged it off of the line and didn't try after that. I've sen videos with srt-4's racing GT's...the GT's taking the srt-4 off of the line, but then the SRT-4 catches up and eventually takes the GT at the very end.

I've heard of people getting up to 20 lbs of boost out of those stock turbos.

The dyno rating is gonna be diffrent from a dynojet to a mustang dyno. The mustang dyno's always show lower numbers.Driver makes a huge diffrence in those cars. And yes some people are pushing the stock turbos to 20psi.

A buddy of mine has an SRT with a manual boost controler, 3" down pipe, and a larger intercooler. Everything else is bone stock.

It dynoed 307 rwhp on our Superflow chassis dyno...

Best its run so far is a 7.92 on slicks.

Um its impossible for the intercooler to just sit there not hooked up the car wouldn't run.And there is no room for him to put it in front of the stocker unless its hanging off the front bumper.
