Had some fun this weekend.

So I went to my track this Saturday. It was fun except for the 2 hour delay due to rain in the morning. I improved my 1/4 mile time by .300 which made me happy. I got my launches down, but IDK if it is my track or what, but I can't get better than a 2.2 60' and my tires spin going into second. What do other v6s with the mods listed below like I have for a 60 run? Also what should a car with those mods run roughly? I ran a best run of 15.41. I can't prevent tires from spinning though. I speed shifted on that run.

Maybe you should consider upper and lower control arms? It's been a while since I've worried about performance, but if I remember correctly they should help you hook better. Also, are you running on street tires?

I have a 5speed as well. I didnt spin on those launches, but I could not take it too hard. And I did spin on the gear shifts.

And the tires are street tires. The are general UHP Exclaims on the 16 inch rims.

Generals are a crappy tire in my opinion. Get some BFG G force sports on there and it will hold nice for a street tire. You should be running way faster than that.

Any air temp data? Altitude above sea level?

In my 6er I cut a 15.0 @ 96.3 and it's an auto. Check my garage for performance mods.

DANG now I feel retardedly slow.

I believe the altitude is close to sea level. It was like 65-70 degrees roughly 60% humidity.

I know my track blows and the traction is terrible. Also I have been unable to datalogg my car cuz SCTs customer service is terrible. Not to bash them.

I figured it was kinda slow. OK here are the numbers.

Reaction 0.206
60 2.408
330 6.595
660 10.016
MPH1 72.46
990 12.860
1320 15.410
MPH 91.54

IDK if my track just sucks cuz all the cars had trouble hooking up. And I had to ease off line to prevent smoking the tires, then the first to second shift the tires would spin so bad that the back of my car would slide out.

Tires (generals are called generals for a reason...get a name brand tire that is track-proven), if you're an auto stall, if your a manual a clutch you can abuse the shit out of at the track. You need torque to get her off the line, so I'd agree on the Mustang GT comment. Weight reduction, weight reduction, weight reduction (think about what you can get rid of; spare tire, jack, etc).

Well now I know to not get general tires ever again. LOL. Oh well. And I have plans next time I am removing rear seat, removing front sway bar, and removing spare tire and jack.

I feel like I could get some tips here too..I got a 99 gt 5-speed and I was getting 2.2 60's as well and 14.5 was my best quarter time. I have Nitto NT-555's on the rear..they are 275's too. I was slipping the clutch till I felt I could get traction but always at the end of 1st and into 2nd i'd spin..it sucked. Maybe I just need to ease off a little into 2nd still and stop getting all heavy footed.

I know what you mean it sucks. IDK if my track was just slippery there. I know lots of ppl had tough times getting traction.

Ya idk what is going on with mine. I think that I just need to practice and keep practicing. I have already improved .3 from my first time. And I am sticking with the same track so I can figure out a setup that works with my track since this is what I run most at.

As far as your situation, try talking to ppl at the track. I think I am going to do that next time, see what they think about the track and what works for them.
