Times From Bowling Green

I made it to the NMRA event in Bowling Green this weekend and ran in the bracket 2 class. These were the first passes I'd made on my new tires. I was very pleased with my reaction times. My highest RT of the night was .076 and my best was .025. For only my 2nd time ever to the track, I thought that was pretty good.

I was leaving at 3800 RPMs with 16 PSI in my rears. I know my 60' and ET would be better leaving higher, but I'm trying to take care of the rear end until I can get my 31-spline setup.

I'll post the details of my best pass and what would have been my best pass had I not gotten on the brakes. On the last pass of the night, I was way ahead of my opponent and underestimated how fast he was closing on me. I hit the brakes too hard and he took the stripe by 0.06. Had I not hit the brakes, I would have broken out so I would have lost that way, too. Oh well...that's racing, I suppose.

Code:
          Best ET Last Run
RT .025 .036
60' 1.996 1.977
330' 5.747 5.692
1/8 ET 8.835
1/8 MPH 79.76
I think that last run would have been an 8.7 run (or close to it) had I not lifted.

Car details:

K&N FIPK
SLP Loudmouth 1 Cat-Back
SLP Catted X-Pipe
BBK 78mm Throttle Intake
Bama 93 Race Tune
Rear Seat Delete
Manual Transmission
Hoosier 26x9x15 Drag Slicks
Completely Stock Suspension

nice seeing you down there, good times for now, but I'm shure you'll get it sorted out with the new rear.

Definitely...was good to meet you as well. Yeah, a new rear end and a higher gear will help a lot. Those tires hooked really well and I was still bogging a bit launching at 3800. I'm looking forward to being able to do my F8L impression and dump the clutch at 6000.

Was nice to meet someone else from the forums.

Ill do the 31 spline swap for you for free or next to nothing if you care to travel to knoxville. I think its 3-4 hour drive from where you are though .

Yeah...I'm sure I can get them down some more once I start launching harder on a beefed up rear. That probably won't happen until after the tracks close up for the winter around here, though. Overall, I was pleased with my performance.

I did one run launching at 3300. That was waaay too low and I bogged big time. That was a very jerky, very bumpy ride.

I appreciate the offer for sure. Google maps says it's 5:15 from here to Knoxville. It's not quite that far, but it's definitely over 4 hours. I think between my mechanic friends and the guys I race with, I'll be able to get it put in pretty cheap. I don't know exactly what is involved in doing the swap (I'm putting in a Detroit Locker and swapping to 3.55s while I've got it out), but I'm hoping that one of them will have the tools to be able to install it at the shops they have at their house and I won't have to actually take it to where they work and pay regular shop rates.
