went to the track last night
Went back last night to see if I can get any better times out of myself...
I did a little better. My new best on n2o was a 12.21 @ 114mph. I know I still need some practice, but I am getting better. My 60' is now consistently at 1.9x instead of 2.1x... I got a new best 60' with a 1.88, 1/8th in 7.99 @ 91mph. My first race of the night was against a fellow Mach, a nice looking white one. He had open long tubes, CAI, 3.90's and I think that's it. On that run I hit a 13.124 and he ran a 13.10x... It was a great race, I had him all the way to the 100ft mark thanks to a better reaction time and better 60', where we were dead even and then he inched me out in the final stretch. Over all the night sucked, all the "real" race cars were out testing for next weekend when the points start, and they were all crashing out. I think there were at least 3 cars that hit the wall near the end of the 1/4... and countless others spilling fluids. So I didn't get as many runs in as I wanted. I did notice the m/t's do like to be heated up a lot more than I thought, so I'm making progress! |

Congrats man. Your times are coming down. You have mph is approaching the 11s. Keep practicing and you will be there. Are your MTs drag radials? You are right about heating them up. Get some stickies and you should be able to pull some 1.7x 60' times and definitely be in the 11s.
Do you still have your front sway bar on? Take that off and you should gain a .10 from better weight transfer. Take out your passenger headlight. It has seemed to help my times.

Yeah the guy in the white Mach took his headlight out, but I never got time to try that last night. (It was worth almost a full tenth for him!). I spent all that time trapped in the staging lanes (waiting on the wrecks to get cleared) trying to fix my bottle warmer. For some reason it wasn't coming on, I think I might have messed it up the last time I had the bottle filled...
Also at the big end of the track I could feel the nitrous surging up and down really bad. I don't know if I was running out, or if that was because the bottle wouldn't get hot. On top of the warmer not working, we had a cold front come through last night and it was about 55 degrees when I made this run, and I had no way of heating the bottle up at all.... I think I could have done much better with more bottle pressure. Oh well, I ordered the progressive controller from Chad, and I think that along with better burnouts will help me get my 60' way down. I'm thinking with a low 1.7 60' and a good 1-2 shift (meaning not blistering the tires) I can get in the 11's.... |

Not sure exactly what's wrong with it yet, but I think it's gonna be a simple fix. I know it was working last time I took it out to get a refill then when I activated everything at the track, the pressure came up but no bottle heater, then by the time when the front came through, I had been sitting with the car turned off for about 2.5 hours! the pressure never did reach all the way to 900psi. It was sitting close to 850 when I got to the front of the line...
I think it's just a simple thing like the 2 wires that run to the pressure regulator and back to the switck aren't hooked back up right... I've got a progressive controller and a remote bottle opener coming in by the end of next week, and that'll give me a good reason to dissconnect everything and start again from scratch! |

Yep crazylegs is the man when it comes to new toys! I always try and deal with him any time I need something new. Besides the fact that he is really experienced with the nitrous, and setting it all up... #1 in my book.
