Unless its a heated track i wouldnt run with temps anything under 45*.

If your running high 8's in the 1/8th mile I don't think it is that bad racing at 40 degrees. I know that once you start hitting low 8's and faster, it becomes significantly less fun and alot more dangerous.

Its a win/lose situation. Low 30's is great for racing as long as your car is at operating temp. But from what I have noticed the track crew has to work harder to prep the track. Last time I went to the track it was in the 30's and I couldn't get traction to save my life. And I am a 99% stock v6 automatic and I spun till 4th feathering the pedal....... But that was also on street tires, no DR's or slicks.

my trap speed was 80.51. do you hook with the nitto's i never got good traction at all that night. i cant wait to get back to the track. cars almost race ready just a few more items i need to do.
my best times from all my runs were:

60ft. 1.90
330ft. 5.67

I will be saying the same thing come this spring.... Well it will be a little different. More like a "Can't remember last time I had street tires at the strip"

I always say that once you go with slicks, you never go back. It is less "skillful" but better 60 foots are addicting.
