1st time at the track with the Stang. 1/8th mile.
So I finally got to take the 88 5.0 to the track today. Stock motor with cold air intake, Spec stage 3 clutch, Eiback Sportline springs, aluminum driveshaft, headers and exhaust, 03-04 Cobra wheels with Nitto Drag radials on the rear. Haven't had time to do many mods yet.
I was actually pretty impressed with the times it put down for a short mod list and stock motor. 1st run was against a SRT-4 and DESTROYED it. Me, 9.237 against his 12.464 time. Had crappy runs after that. 9.6 and 9.7's cause I kept spinning. One run I did really good and then they didn't have the time sheet when I got to the end Anyway, my best time of the night was as follows... Reaction - 0.132 60 ft. - 1.920 1/8th et - 9.136 1/8th mph - 76.14 My Talon ran 8.3's with tons of problems so I have some work to do to beat that old time. Still fairly impressed. I expected to be hitting 10's or something. So what do ya'll think? |

Good job man! I'm really impressed witht he 60' time! I figured those sportlines would kill your launch!
What do you think about the Nittos? Also...the guy in the SRT4 should learn to drive! I'm not a big fan of those cars at all, but I've seen plenty that have come close to that in the 1/4 with not that much in mods. Good job though man! Whats next on the mod list?

Thanks. Nitto's are okay I guess but bought them instead of the MT's cause I've read that everyone gets longer life out of them and I drive this car on the street. Had some trouble trying to hook up but then again I couldn't burnout very well. So next mod for me is a linelock so I can heat up the tires better.

I don't pay attention to 1/8 mile time most of the time but i think mine was in the 8's in the SRT(can't find the last time slip). 8.228 @82.12 in the TA. 8.897 @82.39 In the Regal. And i'm sure the stangs is high 9's.But yes the nitto's do last longer i've gottin about 3k miles and 25 passes out of the last three sets i've had.
