Mach 1 vs. 06 GT vs 01 GT

Well I got two buddies that have GT's. Both wanted to race my Mach. The one with the 06 has the Boss Shinoda kit on it and is proud as hell of it, thinks its god's gift to this earth. I agree its a very nice car but when he started saying it would mop the floor with my Mach I had to draw the line. So we went out and raced 3 times. His car has a SCT Tuner, JLT Cold Air, Short throw shifter, and Borla Exhaust. Mine has Cold air, X Pipe, SLP Loudmouth Exhaust. I beat him by at least 7 car lengths in the quarter mile every time. He didn't stand a chance, so needless to say I was very happy. Raced my other friend with the 01 which has Throttle Body, X pipe, Exhaust, cold air, and a couple other small bolt ons and had the same result as with the 06. I'm Very impressed with my Mach, since I used to have a Z28 and a 98 GT w/ vortech supercharger.

ya I know, it was funny. I definately had the driver mod. The guy with the 01 can drive good....but it's an 01 GT

Usually it's a drivers race between a MACH 1 and S197. Stock for stock, the MACH 1 does make slightly more power. What tires were both of you running?

Dont the boss shinoda cars have a procharger or a vortec charger on it. only reason why i ask is this ass up at Porky's in St. Paul cleans his car all the damn time. i mean it like a kid going into a toy shop must touch everything. He tries to promote hit clean stuff for the people up there. well it mess up my freshly painted car and he had to answer for it. so anytime i see the car and anyone who he is trying to see the crap too i tell them my experience.

But to get back to the car. the guy says it came like that when he picked it up from the dealer and he is the only registered owner for it. So if he does have the charger on it.... then he cant drive it well.

I took a quick look at the differnt Shinoda packages. Maybe he has the level one which includes upgraded suspension, JBA shorty headers, dibalo canned tune and 62 MM TB. The level 2 has the vortech.

If the 01 GT had a good driver it should have been closer. I have raced a few Mach 1's. Only lost to one of them. Both of us good drivers and he beat me by 1 1/2 lengths from 20-100. Still though Machs are fast.

i miss my mach.. lol.. what is this boss shinoda, ive never heard of that before, is this a factory option, or something you send off to get done like saleen?? probably a stupid question but i really have never heard of this.

when he bought it, it was just a regular GT. Then he put all the vinyls and crap on it and got it certified. It is NOT supercharged. Only mods are cold air, SCT Tune, suspension mods, and exhaust.

Raced another friend with a 98 GT. It has Cams, PI Intake, 4.10 gears, Drag radials, headers, x pipe, catback exhaust, cold air, dyno tuned, short throw. it was a non PI so i knew he had a lot of ground to make up. He hung with me a lot closer than the other two people I raced. Here is a link to the vid,

wouldn't your friend made better gains doing a regular PI swap than camming a non-PI? i mean, if he went to the trouble of putting cams, why not find a pair of used PI heads to go with it? nice mach, i've only been able to beat 1 mach, just happened to catch my friend in his bolt-on, built rear w/ 4:30 gears on street tires so he spun like crazy.
