When I was N/A, I ran a best 1/8th mile of 8.19. I put down 265rwhp at the time. This was on M/T ET Street Radials on Weld wheels, with 3.73 gears. So I imagine you could hit a 7.99 w/o spray if you have a real good run.
I launched at close to 5500 rpms BTW. As far as the stock clutch holding, I JUST started smoking my clutch when I was dipping into the 11.9x-11.7x zone in the qtr mile (with the blower). Our stock clutch can hold a good amount of power.

Thats also one thing i would like to surprise people with cause a guy i work with has an ol Smokey n the Bandit T/A that went low 8's with heads and a cam i think and he almost laughs at me when i say ima launch at about 5,550-6,000 RPMS he said ima break something even if i launch at 3K lol And my brother says im gonna run no faster than a 8.6, me n him have some sibling rivalry going on between his 89 H/C/I and S/C @ 8-9psi fox and my car. He has ran a best of 8.2 on street tires that were REALLY hooking, on the street mine and his were dead even before i upped my jetting and got the cams.

I think gears would help the most and some driver mod.
Ex wifes old 00 GT-O/R Hpipe, Flowmaster cat back, Underdrive pullies, 75$ mac CAI, stock 3.27s...8.6...full weight, save for a tubular K My old Cammed 99 GT combo with cams, plenum, TB, OR H, Flowmaster cat back with 3.73s went 8.2s..., full weight...save for a tubular K. I think if I would have just swapped to 4.10s, and drove the piss out of it...maybe lost the seats and spare, I would have gone 7.9s...

I don't see why it isn't possible.
Im at 3450 pounds with all the bolt ons on a thunderbird and hitting 8.20's with an automatic. I'm sure with a stick and 4.30's It would be possible. Throw in some cams and weight reduction and I think you could do it pretty consistently.

With a slick and good launch you'll make it in easy. What tire are you going to run?
I'm not worried if mine will go 7s, it's how low can it go into the 7s on motor that I'm going to focus on. It's my first mod after several built foxes and white99stang's old ride. Good luck to you OP. We'll both be shooting at the same target.

It don't take a strokin and a pokin to run 7s
Drive it like you stole it, then report back with the good news.

My weight was pretty close to stock, except I pulled the A/C, front sway bar, passenger seat, and spare/jack. Considering I weigh about 265 lbs I think that puts me close to stock so to speak - LOL!

Alright made a small amount of progress today, i put my FLSFC's in today and got them welded up and man it sucked rolling around on concrete in 40* weather with the wind blowing like it was today. I just jacked the car up and set the tires on cinder blocks and had to bend the back half of them to contour to the floor but overall i was impressed with the quality and fit of them. They were the $89 Laurel Mountain FLSFC's. After i got them on and painted i tried em out and it seems like it hooks a tiny bit better but now it slightly wheel hops trying to dig down and grip. Monday ima start the torque box reinforcers, shocks, weld the rear brace in, and put on the control arms.

im at work now but so i have no pics of slip and there is a crappy video on youtube of me running 13.1 at 109 on a exhaust and 100shot only car with 555 street tires and the 1/8 time was 8.39 at 86. 2.0 60' too, i think you need a wider rim so you can get more contact with your tires. Search on youtube "kennygt" that video will show up along with me racing on slicks in same car vs a supercharged 01 cobra
i r in the closest lane and he was on street tires
