Or at least deep into the low 12s. With the new trans, a little tweaks here and there and the addition of more weight reduction, this thing should be flying this year

Good Luck on the 12's !! I spent a couple season's running Ford Shoot-outs/bracket racing my old 96, lots of fun, I liked gettin the headstart usually, mid 14's, in TX heat! Mod motors are bullet proof, probably got 150 -200 passes on mine and it had 128k showing when I got it & odo didn't work. Good syn oil & don't overrev! Last summer I started to look for Mod parts, lusting for the 12's, but I bumped into a built 95 w/347sbf, for about what I figured to spend on updating the 96. First pass 2 days after I bought it was an 11.67@115, in 103 degree San Antonio heat, in Oct @60 degrees it ran 11.40@118, still haven't used the bottle!! Now that is fun!! Also bought a 10 sec fox, but I prefer the 95&96 GT's, still want the 96 in the 12's so gonna sell the fox and look for some MOD parts! Anway good luck, a stock shortblock 2v can run 11's.

Do you have an aversion to aftermarket cams???

I'd bet with a CMS Stage II cam (or something similar) you could put her into the 11s.

Plus, it would sound like a racecar then.

Best of luck - I want to see you get that 11sec timeslip.

I would love some Stage II CMS', but right now my goal is to try and get this thing as close to 11s as I can with the stock long block
