01 gt auto vs 90 civic hatch w/b18 n/a
my gt is in sig with mods and its an auto. My buddy has a 1990 civic hatch with a b18 puttn 190whp he claims n/a. I dont beleive that with exhaust and intake and its not the gsr motor. Has a gsr bottom end, but still. those integra motors only put 140hp out so how he has 190 who knows? who you guys got in this one just for kicks? we plan to go to capital when it opens in a month.

I know and think that too just dont wanna hurt his feelings him and all my honda buddys claim it is gonna run 13's all day long. he has a 140hp b18 motor with intake, ported manifold, full exhaust, and gsr bottom end(that dont add shit does it?) and claims keyword their 190whp? you dont go from 140hp to 190Whp from an exhaust and intake. its tuned but still ya know am I crazy here lol? dont those numbers sound bogus?

The fastest stock compression N/A B18 motor ran a 12.2 I believe. This guy is probably far from that though. The GSR bottom end is actually 10.2:1 CR vs 9.1:1 of the B18A1. The GSR bottom end with VTEC made 170bhp and with those mods could be putting down 190whp conservatively. Hell, a buddy of mine put down 206whp with a GSR on stock compression and a Type-R head with similar mods. Figure in that the car weighs next to nothing, this could be a good race.

From my experice with civic owners there cars are never tuned right because they just swap endless stuff on there car, so his car may not be tuned right i know you said its tuned but just saying. On top of that ( i know mustang owners spin a lot launching) but some of the civics at my local track are just terrible they just dump the clutch, spin get wheel hop tach out etc....all in all i say you win

I'm not sure how they are in your area but I've seen alot of very well tuned Hondas in my area. Some of them are making 300whp+ N/A on stock compression, head, cams, and ITBs. They redline at 10,200rpm and the hp is still climbing at that point.

I agree with RDY4WAR.. That little EF could very easily be a 13 sec car if it is set up properly. I think you will have your hands full. I could see it going either way if it does make what he claims.. Your best bet would be to get out front and get a good start cause he could definitely come around you up top..

If he doesn't have different cams, he's probably a mid to lower 14 sec car. If he does, and a decent tune, and tires I see him being mid to high 13s. This is assuming its an lsvtec that has been tuned and built a little. It's probably more likely hes around 160-170whp, but thats still enough to get a low 14 easy..I say you need to launch good and use the low end grunt of the 4.6 otherwise he probably has you. This all banks on his car actually being something worthwhile though and not another ls swap with i/h/e.

A friend of mine has a 1998 Integra GS-R that is built up N/A. Below is a "digitally made" copy of his dyno chart.
275whp @ 9320rpm 176wtq @ 7,000 - 8,000rpm VTEC set to kick-in at 6500rpm, stock B18C1 short block (factory forged internals), stock compression, ported stock GS-R head, Crower stage 3 cams, ported GS-R intake manifold, bigger TB, 4-to-1 header with 3" collector, 3" straight pipe out the back, and on 93 pump gas. The intake manifold, head, and header are all ported even to one another for no restrictions in air flow. ![]() His best 1/4 mile time was 12.82 @ 112mph spinning. It's currently torn down as he's building the motor with 12:1 compression, going with all MSD ignition, and ITBs. He's shooting for 340whp on 93 octane. Remember that this is naturally aspirated.

Not doubting you at all but that seems pretty crazy for stock compression....

I raced a new civic si 2 door with a full exhaust, and intake. We raced from a dig twice, and I raped him both times. I have no mufflers on my car, intake, a short shifter, and
107k miles. I think you will get him.

It's pretty common actually. There's been quite a few hit the 300whp mark on stock compression with ITBs.

itb = independent throttle bodies? you're telling me a 170hp 1.8 liter 4 cylinder stock motor that puts out roughly 145 whp is making an additional 130 whp while still naturally aspirated? I've seen some NA builds that barely push the 200 whp mark....

There's NA builds with ITBs, over 12:1 CR, C16 race gas, and other goodies that are making upwards of 400whp+ and running low 10s in the 1/4 mile. It takes alot of money to get there though. My friend's GS-R, I've seen his engine torn apart and they are the stock pistons. There's no compression bump there. The head has been ported and using bigger valves with big cams that are dialed out for high end power. The stock intake manifold was ported to evenly match the head and it was running a big throttle body with a true cold air. The exhaust was about as free flowing as you can get and also ported to match the head. He had an upgraded oil pump for higher rpm and 42lb injectors but that's about it. I just found out from him that the 275whp dyno was on C16 leaded race gas, not 93 pump gas. He said the tuning was pushing the limits of what the motor could handle also so it wasn't something he ran on a daily basis. He said it was realistically around the 235-240whp range on 93 pump gas and very cammy.
EDIT: Look at this video. The Civics you see running in the beginning of the video are naturally aspirated running mid-low 10s.
