New edge doesn't mean shit. I know people with 50 year old cars that would destroy 90% of the cars on this site lol. The year of the car doesn't mean shit man. How it built does.

I'm talkin built cars....
But even talking factory cars there were plenty of bad ass street machines you could roll off the showroom floor. New or old doesn't matter

FWD engine to wheel loss is roughly 11-14% depending on the transmission. Obviously automatics have a higher loss rate than manual transmissions. It really depends on how many connections and joints there are from the engine to the wheel. Every time you have joint or gear to pass through, you lose a little bit of torque. This is why RWD cars tend to be in the 15-18% loss range cause of the driveshaft, rear end, etc... The older fox body Mustangs with the single driveshaft had a 15% almost dead on loss. The newer S197 Mustangs with the double driveshafts have closer to 17% loss. My Focus has a 12% loss to the front wheels. AWD cars are the worst. They see a 20%+ loss, especially the heavier manual AWD cars such as the old Broncos.
