Spring Fever
I was fine until this week when it turned warm in TN. Now, I'm itching to get back to the track. I ran a best of 8.59 at 81 mph launching at 3800 last fall. Over the winter, I put in a 31-spline TrueTrac, Alloy USA axles and 3.73s. I'll also be pulling the front sway bar off before my next trip to the track. I'm hoping to hit 8.30s launching at 5800 (may have to back off on that if I can't hook up on my 9" slicks).
2 Questions: 1) Do you think 8.30s is reasonable? 2) What have you guys done over the winter and what improvements do you expect when you get back to the track?

i did nothing at all this winter and still need to rebuild my tranny...
on a side note you should come to the tnmustangclub crossville track day. We have a few other mustang clubs coming over to have some shoot outs... or just hit me up and i'll get some guys to go to the hill, or beech bend in KY lol |

I'd like to come, but Crossville is about 4 hours from me (I think). I have a 5 week old son, so it's hard for me to get away for any extended period. I'm just hoping to be able to hit the track about once a month and HOPEFULLY go to Beech Bend for the NMRA World Finals again this year.

My home track would probably be open this weekend, but they've been trying to do a bunch of renovations this winter and the snow has put them behind. They're supposed to be pouring a new burnout box this week and will hopefully be open for test and tune next weekend.

My home track is Jackson Dragway. Only about 20 minutes from my house, but it's only 1/8 mile.

I feel fortunate to have 5 1/4 mile dragsrips with a 2 hour drive. The tracks don't open up here for another couple of weeks though.

Im right there with you man, i have been hard at it this winter. In the fall i had stock suspension with fairly stock motor. Since fall i have installed FLSFC's, Solid upper and lower control arms, spherical housing bushings, tubular K, tubular a-arms, 14" 150lb C/O's, stronger motor mounts, C/C plates, removed the front sway bar & the rear sway bar & the quad shocks, installed a BBK 78mm throttle body, and my cams. All i need now is a brace for the rear and some drag wheels n tires. I think a 8.3 is defiantly reasonable with your setup with a 5,000-5,5000 RPM launch. Im hoping to dip in the 7's N/A

Yeah, I've been following your suspension build, Baz. I ordered some MM FLSFCs yesterday. I'm curious how much of a difference they're going to make.

Heck yeah man, i had 100% stock suspension with Sumi's and they are horrible but i welded in my FLSFC's and i could tell a difference with just them. Before it would lift up the rear and float 2nd as far as i wanted if i ripped 2nd hard. After them welded in 2nd gear wheel hopped a little trying to dig n go. Only spun about 3/4th of 2nd with just them welded in.

Eh I got the base model its just all black but still nice. Without the no2 I think it would be a good run, what kind of numbers do you run at the track without the no2?
