stock 1/8 mile track times, just for the record
my stock '03 auto GT went 9.3, 9.2, and a 9.1, prolly at 78-79mph (end of second gear) The track only gives 1/8mile times. Wasnt till I left that I realized I never turned off the traction control...the car hooked great... Overall I am pleased with it.

under full throttle you wont go into o/d until like 120mph. It prolly swirved on the 1-2 shift? Mine sometimes chirps into second and shakes the car a little bit. Backfire is not normal, unless you have no cats, then its common. Dont worry about it though unless it does it under normal driving.

I have an auto. My OD turns on every time around 75-80 mph. I also chirp everytime in second on sometimes fish tail bad. Even with an auto and good tires can not get a good hook up on the launch. I do better on the street than I do the track. I know better than to do a burnout but figured what the hell and do one, no wrong answer worst take off. Spend my time coming off the line side ways trying to get traction then right before I hit second gear I straighten up then its on from there!

Not to argue or call BS on ya man, but 9.2 and 9.1 sound waaaaay too fast for a bone stock 03 auto gt. The fastest my friends had (stock, save for catbacks) were in the 9.4-9.57 range. Fastest i had (flowmasters, intake, and brand new tranny with aftermarket torque converter) was 9.39.
High 9.2's may be possible with awesome tires and a perfect launch tho. What kinds do you have? With my best time i launched from 1800, and the tires chirped a bit (275/40/17s are nice, but fuzions ftl...), but still had a decent 60-ft of 2.18. Trapped at 77.78 mph. Tires broke traction for the shift to second, kinda surprised me. Even under normal acceleration, the car shifts hard from 1-2 and 2-3. I love it. ![]() Can u get a scan or pic of the 9.1 timeslip? |
