Burnouts (How to keep the rubber off?)
Hadn't been to the drags in a long time, forgot about the rubber sticking to the quarter panels.
What's a good preventative substance? Thought about a thin coat of vasoline or a spray of Pam. Will either of these hurt the paint? Any other suggestions to ease the clean-up? Thx |

there's a vette at the track sometimes with that blue painters masking tape on them to keep rubber from sticking, i bet it works well and i'm fairly certain it'll be safe for your paint

cooking spray works good for this. if you have rubber that is still left on, WD40 will get it off without hurting anything

Painters tape sounds like it might work, I'm also looking at this stuff.

Cooking Spray probably does best. Some others I know use wax as well.

A good coat of wax 9/10 will make the rubber just peel off...But do this before...

Geddex Burnout Guard. I've been using it for quite a few years now. It comes in a spray bottle. Spray it on when you get to the track, make your passes, and hose the quarters/bumper off when you get home. I was buying it through Summit, but it looks like they don't carry it anymore.
